If you could bring back any manager to manage Aston Villa now who would it be?

He was class Jack, he built his team like a brickie builds a wall, a bit at a time.
The final piece was a coping stone on top called Peter Withe, “Great” it brings a tear to the eye.

Saunders, Atkinson, Little any of those.

Ron Saunders was a class act. Remember the season we won the title, we played 14 games against 7 Midland teams and never lost a game. He made each player believe that they were the best in the world. Great memories.

How sad we are looking back more than twenty years, we should be looking for a viable option now. Clearly the fact we are harking back to the past suggests we are in dire straits. We all know the stats one win in twenty one league games no away win for nearly 14 months.

25 million spent and we can't manage a shot on goal against Ipswich and we see positives that we didn't loose and didn't concede what a joke. That may be acceptable to the extreme loyalists but to those of us with emotional scar tissue it doesn't wash.

I overheard heard the most saddening banter in the pub this afternoon from a Small Heath crowd, they mocked our "Birmingham are you listening chant" we're not listening we are sniggering they said. It really hit home the depths we have slumped to. We need to restore pride to our great club and we need it soon before it's too late.

10* man.
The one and only Ron Saunders.

Adding another option who would you not want back.
This list could be long!

John Gregory or tim sherwood. all of the above are greats but would not cope now with the modern game. I still think sherwood would of got it right and done well. under the good doctor letting him get his own players in would do a good job. and as for Gregory just loved the ego of the guy. I'm more than happy with rdm for now though.

Oh my goodness I totally agree with a kingy post!

{Ed007's Note - I can't believe nobody mentioned Billy McNeill. }

Spot on KingVilla 👍🏻 always pmsl when I think about a post match interview Gregory gave after a game against Sunderland, they got a dodgy free kick which they scored from, Gregory said 'and it seems that Don Hutchinson borrowed Emile Heskey's roller skates! ' Class 👍🏻
