How Davis didn't get a run out today is beyond me lads! Those CBs of Liverpool were there for the taking and instead we went with Barkley, who hasn't played in weeks and Barkley broke a sweat - So, so, frustrating as Liverpool were there for the taking today.

I would've liked to see Davis too but I think Smith felt the pressure to not make the same substitution as last week for fear of being accused of making the same subs every week.

If Barkley can’t even lift his game against Liverpool it must be over for him surely. I hope it’s the last time we see him in a Villa shirt personally. Agree BK, Davis should have been used, I would imagine he feels totally disillusioned. I can’t help feeling if it had been Barkley who had come on against Fulham and made such an impact, Deano would have put him straight in the starting 11 today. 😤.

To be fair Ramsey did a great defensive job on Barkley just before their goal.
Davis should have been the first sub but other than his first touch I thought Barkley was closer to the Barkley we want (still needs to close down better) .

The only Barkley I want to see rk is the one back in a Chelsea shirt.

RK are you Barkley's agent? He runs less than a dog with 3 legs and has the touch of a baby hippo opening a pack of biscuits. His head has completely gone as has his passion for football looking at his body language (tho I'm no expert before I get pulled up on it)

I've been one of Barkleys biggest critics but I think it's a tad unfair to slate him when he was more effective than the other subs and 4-5 of the starters.
We were sloppy trying to rush a few passes but until the subs we had an OK gameplan that was let down by that sloppiness.
My position is to go back to a 6 and 2 8's. Burnley have proven 4-4-2 for a whole game doesn't work consistently but 2 6's is causing us problems in the fact there isn't one taking the bull by the horns.
Nakamba can be the 6 as long as a ball player actually puts himself into space rather than hiding in the centre and expecting us to pass through an opponent.

Sloppiness, what category does that fall into rk.

I didn't say he was world class, just closer than he has been. You can't deny Ramsey tackled Barkley the time he got himself into a very good position and he did more in creating chances than half the others in his time on the pitch.
Is it enough to me up for his previous performances? Not yet but as I stated, it was moving in the right direction.
It's almost like some people never learnt how to read sometimes.

Care to explain your question Dave as it makes zero sense.
Back to my previous comment of reading I had already explained it came from rushing passes.
Sloppiness and gameplan are not mutually exclusive. Setup can be fine but passes misplaced and setup can be bad but a worldy pass or shot cover up the cracks.

Yes rk, we keep making excuses for our performances.
Lack of concentration, sloppiness, people should understand that at times it is a lack of quality.

Dave sadly you are wasting your time, please don't have the audacity to criticise, what is served up should be accepted without question.

It wasn't criticism at the time though scot, it was a meaningless question that had no relevance.
Please enlighten me as to where I said everything was hunky dory you cretin.
Some of us analyse moments in the game, good and bad. If we think something could have been done we offer up an actual option. I don't think anybody thinks we're playing brilliantly but at the same time we're still serving up more than half the league despite our poor form.
