Anyone got an opinion on the Maccabi Tel Aviv fans situation - preferably one that isn't going to get you banned from this site ?
{Ed001's Note - we really can't get into it, especially as most of what is being shared online is based on propaganda and misinformation. Their fans are vile thugs anyway, they are the most racist and worst for violence in the competition, just be glad they are not there as they could trash the city of Birmingham. Probably improve the place like, but still....?}

I think a lot of people seem to be missing the point that this is as much for the safety of the Israeli fans as it is for our own.
I'd hate to see the stories if Tommy Robinson organised his bunch of thickos to meet the Tel Aviv Ultras.
{Ed001's Note - Tommy Robinson is funded by Israel.}

I’ve written to the BBC I think the politicians approach is extremely short sighted, they are asking for a decision based on a risk assessment undertaken by the police to be changed, how can you ask for the decision to be changed without having seen the assessment? I managed risk at a senior level for most of my career and the police will have assessed what level of risk they are prepared to take ie high medium or low and acted accordingly. By all means ask to see the paperwork and critically review the process and if you think the police are risk averse by all means review the decision but to ask for it to be arbitrarily changed is foolhardy and if something happens and god forbid someone is seriously injured then the political classes will be culpable.

Lotm did you see the Palestine protests down the last home game, imagine the crew they could raise for this game, you would get them from all over the country. Also remember what villas surrounding population, consists of, don’t think you would find many Jewish sympathies there UTV

This game will be a cesspit of hate generated by the media and by those who will turn up just stir the pot mark my words there will be huge trouble outside the ground by those who are not even connected to the club.What the police and SAG should have done is allow a small minority of Maccabi fans to attend let's say 250 they would have been easily policed and it wouldn't have caused all this rubbish that is being spouted about.Spurs have a huge Jewish following is the same going to happen to them when they come?
{Ed001's Note - it is nothing to do with religion, will people stop spouting this lie! It is about Tel Aviv fans being racist, violent scumbags who attack anything and anyone they see - including other Jews.}

I totally agree Ed their fans are violent but the fact of the matter is particular groups are using our club to spread hate we are in a predominantly Asian area and from what I've seen and read all types are turning up for this match.Not all fans are hooligans, To stop all this nonsense the Police and Sag could easily have let 250 of their fans come I don't know Season ticket holders family Friends but now this has gone public their will be protests hate and I will say there will be a lot of violence at this match if the Police don't Police it properly.
{Ed001's Note - all of their fans are a problem and have been everywhere they go mate. The only reason they have not been banned from Europe is because they whine about anti-semitism, even though they are too stupid to know what it means and realise that it is nothing to do with Judaism and simply about languages. Oh and that semitic people also includes Arabs, as it is the group who speak Hebrew, Aramaic and Arabic. UEFA are too scared to ban them, even though they shouldn't even be playing in Europe anyway. This should not be an argument, they should be kicked out, and not put Villa fans at risk just to appease a bunch of genocidal maniacs.}

Again totally agree Ed with regards the majority of their fans but because SAG and the Police have gone public with this instead of allowing a small amount of their fans in it has now stirred up a lot of hate filled propaganda for instance a Muslim group have said they will be attending this match then you have the ones from TR group turning up also for the real fans turning up this is going to be a match that should have been played behind closed doors IMO.Also as you go to VP now on one side you have flags of Palestine being flown then on the other side you have British flags can you imagine on a night like this what on earth is going to happen?
{Ed001's Note - that is not the SAG and police at fault though mate, that is the propaganda pricks in the media and govt who want to stir up trouble.}

I'm not sure if you seen the video of the local Asian MP of Aston calling for all to turn up to this match to protest against it at the last home match there was some there with huge Palestinian flags for me this is inciting trouble and has stirred it all up and as you rightly said along with the media and the so called politicians this game will be a hate filled game and I'll hazard a guess that their fans all be it a small minority will turn up anyway.I feel sorry for us fans who want to go to watch our club compete in Europe knowing for well on this particular game it will be a game that will be remembered for all the wrong reasons.
{Ed001's Note - it is why the SAG and police wanted them banned. It is for the safety of you and other Villa fans. Though I do fail to see why a Palestine flag is seen as incitement, why should it be an issue? If you go along to a derby match and wave a Villa flag, would it be incitement if you then got attacked by Birmingham fans? No, it wouldn't.}

Waving a flag of a state that is run by mainly terrorists Ed could incite trouble and has no place in football IMO.Football should be about going with family friends not about politics we all go to games to forget our troubles to forget about politics and war and so on and so forth.I guess what I'm really trying to say is anybody and everyone should be welcome at a football game and as the main motto for football is "Keep racism out of football" but I'm afraid come this match it will be rancid a game full of hate instead of being a game full of Love.And as for the Villa Blues I'm sure if I was to wave a Villa Flag between Blues fans I would either get KO'D or beaten up or visa versa and yes some will say you asked for it for doing so.A great debate Ed and thanks its always great to have a decent debate without any malice intended??
{Ed001's Note - mainly terrorists? You know nothing about what you are talking about. For starters, Hamas was created and is funded by Israel. Israel is a terrorist state, you seem to be fine with accepting their war criminals and genocide though. Palestine is not run by mainly terrorists, unless you are referring to Israel, as it is an occupied nation, where people are routinely tortured and imprisoned without trial, where Israeli guards set trained dogs on them to rape them. The only terrorists there are Israel and anyone saying different is ignorant of what has been happening since WW2. You might want to look into what Israel has done - they were the ones attacking their own to create excuses to kill locals. All those Palestinians that had taken Jewish refugees into their homes after the war came home to find that the Israelis had just changed the locks and used violence to force them out of their own homes. Israel is an apartheid state like South Africa, where racism is normalised, not just against Arabs, but against anyone who is not one of them. They literally banned Christmas in Jerusalem and Christians are spat on in the street and assaulted for wearing a cross. There is a reason why Jews are at the forefront of every protest against Israel mate. If you want to keep racism out of football, you start by banning apartheid states, just like was done to South Africa.
I am lucky enough to live in a building that has Hindus, Sikhs, Jews, Muslims, Christian, Buddhists and some other religions I don't know what they are, all living together. There are only issues in places like Israel, because someone creates issues between them deliberately. There is no history of hate between Muslim and Jew, they co-existed peacefully and happily in the area for hundreds of years. All the division is created by people wanting to grab land. Iran and Iraq have sizable Jewish populations you know, and they have lived there for centuries without issues.}

As has been said, these fans clearly have a history of creating trouble wherever they go. The burning of the Palestinian flag and the singing of songs praising the IDF and celebrating the atrocities in Gaza was designed to incite trouble in Ajax and sadly succeeded. The SAG should publish the risk assessment so people can judge for themselves the rationale behind the decision. Sadly what I think will happen is political pressure will be ramped up, the decision will be reversed under the guise of a review having taken place.
Sadly I fear it looks like anything that is perceived to adversely impact the Jewish people is deemed ‘anti semitic’ whether it is or not.
{Ed001's Note - spot on mate.}

Unfortunately Lord, Starmer forced himself into having to take ridiculous actions like this after his recent Farage racism comments.
By going so strong in that interview, he now has to back it up with actions (actually investigating his own party would help) so we could see some more ill informed actions in the near future.

As I said Ed this is a football match not some propaganda experiment for those not even connected to our club.I don't care about race religion or politics what I do care about is freedom and allowing football fans from all walks of life going to a match knowing they can do so safely but now this has been blown up out of all proportion I doubt this will happen.Mark my words this game as I said will be remembered for all the wrong reasons Politics and War should be kept out of Football, It is not a working man's sport no more it's a sport for those who want to push their narratives.
{Ed001's Note - I agree with you, but that will never happen sadly.}
