Yet another one we made really hard work of .until Maatans came on and added some pace, we where so slow in everything we did .Bailey and Cash down the right where terrible, the only time Cash looked decent, was when he was forced into going forward. When Bailey scolded that goal, he suddenly decided to start playing . Digna got one of the best left feet in the league, you wouldn't have known that that today .Thought Mings had a decent game, at times he was the only one, trying something different, with balls over the top . Got to give it Barkley took his goal well .

And yes Dave, it was bloody cold, Couldn’t even have a hot drink at half time, the shutters on the kiosk where broken, going up and down like a yo-yo .

Dave, your tempered assessment is pretty much what some of us less patient see. Mings offers no more no less than Torres other than his superior heading ability. I know we were both in the stadium today, those who weren't there really don't understand the realistic mood amongst the loyal faithful.

I don't think anyone in their right mind is thrilled with recent performances, least of all today, but to suggest that only the fans in the stadium have a clue what the mood is seems a bit of a stretch mate.
Being 'realisitc' and overreacting to relatively short-term form are two different things. Most balanced Villa 'faithful' I speak to that are not either children or had wildly optimistic goals for this season pretty much see it the same way. We're a work in progress who have been on a broadly upward trajectory for some time, therfore are reluctant to be overly critical but still want improvment, as all fans do. At the same time, there is frustration at recent performances, the sometimes slow build up play, the fact we didn't spend more, the fact we have more players out of form than in etc etc etc, it's just that some see more good than bad (when assessing in the round) and don't feel the need to constantly criticise against unrealistic standards. If you're not getting any enjoyment from it, there's a waiting list for people that will.

DBS if they play well, I’m the first to praise them, so if I consider after watching them for 60+ yrs, that I think they aren’t on it, then I think I have the right to do so . That remark about the waiting list, just about sums it up . UTV

And how many games are we unbeaten at home now, it's not prefect but it works

Davedean, I think you misunderstand my comments. At no point have I suggested it's unreasonable to comment on things that can be improved or poor form, the comment was more to do with the overly dramatic and constant over the top moaning by some on here. I've lost count of how many people claim to be 'just offering constructive criticism' but then talk like we're in a relegation battle, half of the squad should be shipped out and the manager has serious questions to answer. It's just getting ridiculous at times.
The comment about the waiting list is just common sense, if people literally get no joy from something, which is how some people come across, then why not just take some time out.

Ah yes DB, but those people on the waiting list can't possibly have an opinion about the team until they are inside that stadium.
Gatekeeping is poor form at the best of times, much worse when they gatekeep something they clearly never enjoy.
It's more like toxic workplace management where rather than praising and rewarding an employee exceeding expectations for a short period, it just becomes the new minimum expectation levels.

DBS if I didn’t get enjoyment out of watching them, I wouldn’t have been going for as long as I have . From what I can see, all the statements in my post, are correct .

Dave you are waisting your time, we both tell it how we see it, unfortunately many don't like it. I respect fans who are loyal and only see the best in our team, unfortunately some of us can't sit back and say nothing when millionaire footballer's churn out the rubbish we endure., . I will always comment on things how I see it. Nothing I post is nothing other than how I see things and I really don't understand how people can't accept that. And anyone who quotes waiting lists really doesn't understand the commitment some of us have given and continue to give no matter what is served up. I think that gives us the right to say what we do. It's interesting it seems only those who don't actually have season tickets make comments about those who have.

You're the one acting like those without season tickets (most with legitimate reasons) shouldn't be able to have an opinion, or at least that it's worth less than yours.
Those millionaire footballers are playing against other millionaire footballers, not Sunday League teams. The other teams aren't going to just sit there and let us do whatever we want. City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea fans all see similar games when playing against teams parking the bus but you expect us to somehow make miracles happen.
If you stop being so pig headed, you may realise that if you stop taking digs at people who can't go to games then you may receive less digs yourself.
If I watch a stream, it's because it's not available to me any other way. I pay for Sky and BT which goes towards supporting the club, just because we don't have season tickets doesn't mean we don't give money to the club through other avenues.

RK as usual your reply suits your own agenda, my comments were one season ticket holder DaveD from another and that's the main context of my post People can comment how they like and as I have said many times I fully understand circumstances dictate attendance. At no point do I ever suggest that non attendance has any less credence with the posts on here. What I do take issue with is the posts that suggest I shouldn't go if I don't like what I see and also if I don't like it there is plenty waiting who would be happy to replace me. If I didn't care do you think I would spend the time commenting on what I'm seeing, also the significant amount of money I spend, I also have Sky, BT, Amazon and an alternative so I can ensure I watch every game. So my contributions to the players wages come from multiple sources and my view is I have every right to comment on what I see and I'm not sure why some can't accept this just because it differs from theirs.

Except you keep telling us we don't have a clue by not being there.
You have confirmation bias, hearing those that agree with you and telling everyone that all the attendees feel the same way.
When it's really going wrong and fans are genuinely disgruntled, it's obvious even from the TV stream. I'm not hearing the boo boys or extended periods of crowd silence or murmuring like I have in the past.
I'd respect you a lot more if you just owned the negativity rather than claiming it as constructive criticism and acting like others are living in a fantasy world. I can be a right moody bugger sometimes but I make an effort to hold my hand up in acknowledgement and try turn that around.
