I find it interesting that Mings having suffered an horrific injury, gets fit plays well against Palace in his first game, makes a genuine mistake, foolish yet, but not punishable by being kicked out the club like some have called for.Bailey makes mistakes nearly every time he touches the ball and everyone feels sorry for him when he is criticised.Torres is also a hero no matter what he does, let's not forget the goals we have conceded because of his weaknesses. So Mings should at least have some respect for what he has done over the last few years.At one point he was one of the best central defenders in the premier league why he gained his English caps. He was the better of the the two central defenders when playing with Konsa. So please those of you who defend some of the poor performances of those who do deserve criticism, have some level of decency for a guy who doesn't deserve the stupid things being written.

I room for sentient at the top of the league Scot, he constantly made mistakes when he was first choice and Wednesday night showed his football brain hasn’t developed anymore in the past 2 years, I don’t think he should be kicked out of the club but he’s nowhere good enough to be first choice if we want to challenge at the top, I know you don’t rate Torres but he’s a decent defender and offers a good out ball playing in our system, mings offers nothing playing out and he often makes mistakes defensively.

Whack mings might not be as good as pau with the ball at feet, but he far better in under high balls, and covers ground a lot quicker,

I agree with Scotty. It took Van Dijk months of playing to get back to near his best after his knee injury. Why are we overly harsh on the guy. Anyway how many good centrebacks are there in the league? Saliba, Gabriel, Stones, Dias, Van Dijk. Konsa, Guehi. The rest are aren't any better than Mings. In fact most are a lot worse.

Bucky you got it bang on mate, and IV you also got it bang, Torres shortcomings costs us goals, more mistakes leading to goals than Mings.

We're a better team now, a lot of his mistakes previously were because Gerrards system was nonsense, he was regularly stuck with no left back or defensive midfielder in the same postcode and had to try do something miraculous to make up for it.
I think he'll struggle to be a regular under Emery but he definitely offers something different, especially if we have to play counter attacking football against a top team.
