If I ruffle a few feathers saying this, then so be it, I make no apologies for doing so.
We need to cast aside the label us villa fans have been given, according to many we are and I quote, Fickle, impatient, naïve, feel we have divine rights, etc, etc, I personally don't give a mutts nutts what people call us, I call it passion for my teams success, never the less it is a label we bear because some of the above is very true, we also over react, fight amongst ourselves, more unwanted traits.
I suggest now that Dean Smith is our manager and JT is his number 2, we should all back them and the owners of our club in every way we can, be reasonable about our expectations.
We were very nearly down and out 14 weeks ago, it might not seem it to some but we have made huge strides to get where we are at this moment in time.
It is very clear to me that most if not all of our latest acquisitions are on a mission, and dare I say, I think they genuinely have our club at heart.
We now have some very capable people running our club, and I have to say I feel very contented and confident that we will now begin to move forward with some verve and conviction.
It might take a while for things to take shape and materialise, so we all need to appreciate this and give our new people and their set up time to settle, and for them to experiment without them being ridiculed and shot down for every decision they make.
Our current squad are somewhat conditioned in more ways than one, and obviously need a wakeup call, I expect the way the players think, eat, behave, and play will all change and it needs to.
Make no mistake, we as fans and supporters of Aston Villa have a very big part to play from now on.
I ask everyone to now give the new leadership time to do whatever needs to be done, without any added pressure from us moaning and griping.
Everything has been done that could be done, and in hindsight I honestly think we have achieved a scenario that will prove to be the better of all the options that were being thrown about.
We do not have any right at all to be top of the championship because we are Aston Villa, but our owners and management do have the right to expect, and to be given the time to try and repair and rebuild our great club to its former glory.
Our journey begins.

Not over the top at all.

And I think it’s a perfect appointment!

Also, I think he was their only choice. to me it’s mathematically impossible with the time scale for Henry to say no, then Jose’s apprentice says no, then Smith is appointee! In the space of 24hours! With compensation paid!
Shows press where fed bull siht to keep it under the radar.

Well played villa.

Couldn't agree more, I reckon the deal was done the back end of last week. Terry obviously new, and Redknap new something on Monday ( good mate of Terry and they were out together Monday night) and was trying to be clever in the press (impossible for him) .

Along with our CEO the owners have shown class in their negotiations and have certainly played the press, no mean feat I personally think this is a sign of things to come, the way this lot operate and I think the future is bright, however we should not expect miracles overnight.

Dave once again you are spot on with your post,
You really know how to put over your views,
This set up now needs all the villa supporters behind them and not to expect overnight success,
It's not as easy as turning on a tap,
Smith's team's play differently to Bruce's so he will need time to get it his way of playing,
He will succeed in my view If allowed to by the owners and particularly with the fans,
I am very excited by all appointments and may we have a very bright future
Up the villa!

I think you are probably spot on there Flackie.
And I agree, if it is true, what a clever and shrewd move.
