I love the feeling I have today! takes me back to being a kid again. very excited about the 1st trip of the season to Villa Park tomorrow! Cannot wait!

So doom and gloom merchants out there who have been posting about how awful our pre season results have been.
A Manchester United XI beat Crewe last night by 2 goals to nil. So by your Championship manager mentality our 5-1 win against them must mean we are better than Man Utd. & Newport are better than us?!

It was never going to be an easy first few weeks of the season but now the Chelsea game has been put forward how hard?!
I am feeling positive after year of hell for me & three months in hospital with meningitis. the last few months of the season doubled up with our new recruits & contract re-signers has kept me smiling! I am going for a return of 5 points!
Arsenal 1-1
Chelsea 1-1
Liverpool 2-0
yeah its hopeful but why be negative & I would actually take 4 points and have two very tough away fixtures out the way! Then roll on November/December as apart from Manchester United every game is winnable!

Could be a productive few days for the plus side of the bank account. well some savings at least!

I failed my gcse maths but by my calculations that's roughly 12-14 mill in transfer fees & a saving of 100k a week on loans (assuming we still pay some of the wages, unless we do just pay off the man who's nan is always ill!)
. and a total saving of at least 280-300k a week in wages
Then we can get signing a RB, DM & a AM and please Mr Lerner is it too much to ask for Bafetimbi Gomis too? I won't ask for anything for my birthday or Christmas!

You may be a bit on the negative side Danny but at least you have the stones to put your name to your opinions! I do not agree with what you said mate but well done on that. it seems more and more are putting names which makes it easier to spot the Bluenose or Norwich fan who is jealous & trying to wind us up!

What avfcjon? how do you work out that we may as well keep him now because someone will only pay a small amount of money and let him walk for "free" next season? that is nonsense surely a nominal fee will at least pay some off the money he has frankly done nothing to earn over the years he has been at Villa. I would say the way he has offered nothing but a poor attitude and blatant disregard for the history & heritage of OUR club yet still earnt probable millions is nothing short of "free"
Whilst I agree if a player does earn a huge wage but performs on the field we as fans choose to look the other way it makes it all the more noticeable when they have an attitude such as Ireland's.
The problem is that we have had too many players off his attitude and standing earning huge wages for doing nothing and I am glad that finally we have a manager in Paul Lambert that is trusting in hungry, talented youth who actually want to play for the club and is getting rid of the bad apples who poison the squad and thankful that Randy Lerner has supported him financially both in new recruits & keeping players who show spirit & pride on the field and are not more concerned in their pimped up ostentatious pink Bentley's & mock tudor mansions.
You are entitled to your opinion but the sooner we get rid of the players from our squad like "the lad" who has been given too many already the better in mine.
