It seems Spurs are willing to sign the unwanted Gallagher but we just want him on loan to put our toe in the water. So that's a no -brainer for Atletico as they'll have offloaded him and have £35m in their pocket. Either commit or bail out - if we're unsure then move on.

The talk was loan with obligation to buy, which to me means we were going to buy him but at the end of the season and past any PSR cut off point, and for £8M less than Spurs are paying for him. My other take on it is with Gallagher, he’s being a bit short sighted. He himself could’ve insisted on going to Villa, go to a club on the up with a world class coach who’d make him a better player, or play for a toxic club that’ll probably sack their manager by the summer, never mind him being a Chelsea cult hero, would be like Gabby or Grealish signing for the nose
