The referees are back at it, why couldn't he give it 2 seconds before blowing the whistle?

What is strange is a player cam be 5 uatds offside but they let play go on and potentially have a player injured rather like the Forest player a few weeks ago, but couldn't let the play go on for 5 seconds so VAR can decide. The ref was soo far away he couldn't really see that well.
