At least the upcoming game against Lille will give everyone a chance to see how good Johnathan David is.
Personally I rate the striker highly and would be an ideal replacement if Watkins was to leave ( don't want Watkins to go but if arsenal for example offered 80 million plus then it's a no brainer )

Think Toney would cost close to the 100 million mark where you can get David for 50 mill max as his entering the final year of his contract and has already publically said his not signing and wants to join champions league club

I have always championed Patrick Schick from Leverkusen however if we are looking at value, the lad who plays for Porto, Mehdi Taremi who also led the line for Iran in the World Cup I think he is available for a free in the summer, he has something like 61 goals in 115 games for Porto and although he’s 31 as back up to Watkins that doesn’t sound too bad a deal to me particularly as he comes with Champions League experience.
