From a tabloid:

"Tottenham are hoping Aston Villa will accept Emmanuel Adebayor as part of a swap deal with Christian Benteke."

They still would have to pay the 32mil because he would cover the 0.5mil, and they can pay 2/3s of his wages.

NO THANK YOU, overpriced waste of wages!

None of the "top 4" are interested, only seen links with Spurs and Liverpool (who haven't liverpool been linked with)

I hate to say this, and await the wrath, but I would take a deal for cash with him.
With right manager, and motivation he is on his day at least as good as Big Ben.

No this fault that he is on massive wages.
Some one offered me the same I would take, wouldn't you??

If Spurs were to be interested in benteke i'd seriously consider 25m + Townsend swap. Get in Charlie Austin for 15m. That would leave rb/cb (depending on where you play Richards) lb (linked with Ajax lb boilesen who is available for 2.5m- no idea if he's any good, could be another tony moon) and a cm to buy. Denis Praet? Steven Defour? Sam Byram? Will Hughes? Certainly have to give Gardner an opportunity this season.

I agree with Flackie here. Adebayor would be useful if he is motivated and he obviously is by Sherwood. This could be a stop gap until the buyout happens and we can invest in a more long term prospect as Adebayor is getting on. Even better if Towsend is thrown in.

I would much rather have Kyle Walker in as part of the deal, and I wouldn't say no to Townsend. Adebayor on the other hand is just throwing money away, he will have no resale value and his wages will be massive.

Townsend is class and the type of player I would like to see at Villa, if Tim pulls this one off I will be delighted. :-)
