I am genuinely intrigued about what is going on at VP at the moment. half the players we are being linked with is just lazy journalism but what does make things interesting is posts like the one above. where is the money coming from because Lerner would not sanction 14.5million unless the money was being recouped by selling someone OR someone else is funding it!! Or all these rumours are just BS lol.

I'm shif fan of townsend an I think he'd be a huge success at villa but £14m+ seems too much considering Spurs don't seem to see him as a long term mainstay of their team, surely £10m tops would be a fair deal.

I think we've seen good and poor with Ron. Some great strikes, but has been questionable on many occasions. His performances in the World Cup put him favourably in the spotlight but that was playing at Full Back not Centre Half. Injuries and penalties are other items on his downside.
I think we have a need to look for better consistency and leadership.

Honestly got to the point where I'll be gutted to see him stay. He's not good enough for us let alone "stepping up" Old injury prone liabilty.

Maybe the signing of Micah Richards is a direct replacement for Vlaar. I don't think money would be sanctioned if they are in the middle of takeover talks unless it was absolutely necessary.

We have a much better replacement for vlaar in Richards, powerful quick and hopefully he'll score a few more. Hopefully this right back from nice will see sherwoods intentions for villa and follow suit. Townsend has also been linked again a natural winger just what we need, just need some more fire power
