Having struggled at Real Betis since joining in the summer Van der Vaart may well be back in the premier league on loan at villa till the summer, thought to bring a bit of leadership and quality to villa's midfield and at a rather cheap price, as Betis aren't using him.

Nowhere have I read that. Would love to see it but nobody has written about this. Besides he doesn't fit the profile. French speaking, no English and no experience of the premier league.

Can speak English and has prem experience, but I haven't seen this anywhere either.

No you're missing my point my mate. The profile of player villa keep going after is French, don't speak English, have no experience of English premier league and have been chosen from their stats in another country. Ie van der vaart does not meet that criteria lol.

I still reckon Lerner will splash some cash as I said before no oil rich Arab or dodgy Russian wants a championship side. Club will have no retail value for him if we go down. I believe if we buy only one player it must be a new keeper.

I think best we can hope for is a few loans and by the sounds of it even some fringe defender from Bordeaux on loan is hard to come by at the moment.
Im a window cleaner and one of our customers who runs a sporting goods brand and has some links with Villa said that he'd heard before the meeting on Monday Kozak was a non selection because of his appearance fee and since been given go ahead to pay wages for loans and bonuses Kozak is back in the frame, could be nothing. but could be something.

I would refer you back to my previous post on Kozak whereby I believe his contract contains a clause that says that for each goal he scores, as well as his overblown wages, he also gets given a decent second-hand car, a couple of virgins and a positive outlook. Unfortunately, he's discovered that none of these are actually available in the Birmingham area, so he had been refusing to play.
However, he was recently seen driving around in half-decent 2010 Mondeo, hence his re-appearance the other night .

irishvilla dude i don't mean to correct but rafael van der vaart has never been french. he is dutch and he is a very proven player. he was second place in the pfa players' player of the year losing out to gareth bale. he has a lot of premier league experience and being a prolific assist maker. He CAN speak english and i would welcome him with open arms, but i guess that's why rumours are called rumours for a reason.

To be honest I doubt it will happen, just something I was told by my mate whom I met on an exchange trip to Sevilla. He said it rather jokingly, but I'd rather cling to hope of signing someone than no one.
