With the very positive sounding information leaking about a potential take over, hypothetically if we have a sizeable war chest to spend next season what, within reason, would you like our starting 11 to look like next season?

Guzan
Trippier Clark Micah Richards Kieran Gibbs
Townsend Delph Dembele Sinclair
Austin Benteke
With a reasonable amount of ambition by a new owner, I think this is feasible

Mendax - I like it.

Tripper, Austin, Townsend would definitely be on my list and Benteke, Delph, Guzan and Sinclair should keep their places IMO. Interesting choice with Richards at CB but it could work and would act as good cover for LB too. Not such a fan of Dembele, he's been very lacklustre at Spurs but if he can recapture the form from his Fulham days he could prove a great buy. I'd prefer a dedicated holding midfielder to partner Delph so he has more license to get forward and add some much needed height and strength to our midfield.

I know what you mean on Dembele. He was the one I was least enthusitic about. But, I think he,s gettable; I'd play him in exactly the way you describe alongside Delph and I think he's a bit better than what we have. There are probably better options though

Not really sure who I'd want as the new cb just used Chester as I've seen rumours

Would love to see Dembele at villa, I think as a regular starter he would flourish.
No mention of Gary Gardner in many peoples 11, I believe next season will be a big one for him. Was forests best player at the end of last season

Its common knowledge that we need new fullbacks, I'm sure there will be a long queue for Trippier.

We can only hope that any takeover happens sooner rather than later otherwise transfer targets will of already signed for their new clubs!

The problem with Gary Gardner is he needs time to grow into the premier league so won't make most peoples first 11 - notice how nobody has put Grealish in either. Mine would be

Guzan
Trippier, Okore, Clark, Jetro Willems
Delph, Barton
Townsend, Diame, Sinclair
Austin (I'm assuming Benteke is gone)

Centre backs would need adding to - Okore and Clark played very well together but rubbish with different partners.

Would be around 60 mil to get these players and a fare bit of wage but hey I hope new owners will free the purse strings up a bit and with the new tv money and a couple of good sponsor deals we could balance the books over next year. I'd keep gabby guzan baker Westwood and the likes as squad players and give Gardner Robinson and few young lads a crack. I'd also like helenius given a fare crack as I rate him but don't look like we will.

I was surprised to see Graham Burke was released, it was not that long ago he was being touted as the next big thing. Good luck to the lad, I hope he finds a new club quickly.

It seems such a shame that after winning the NextGen series thingy we have been unable / unwilling to bring any of the players involved through into the first team. Hopefully with Sherwood on board, he will take more of an active part in the youth development and bring some more through like Grealish

Looks like take over is going to happen, but from what I'm reading I could be a bit late for this window again all the paper work is finished, I happy to see there has been a couple of interested party's looking to buy, I just hope if it does take a while with paper work randy doesn't let the window pass by without getting fresh faces in, I'd love to know who the interested party is and how much they are worth, let's hope for bigger and better things, lord knows we have had it hard the last couple of seasons

read today that a bid has been accepted and it looks like we getting new owner. so what that's the betting that we end up with a mike Ashley, oh please let it be a crazy rich oil billionaire that's going to put couple 100 million a season into transfers.

dont really want to be one them teams that buys for sake of it but for once it will be nice to sit here and actually enjoy transfer windows
