Yes. I know we have taken back to back hammerings but that is over and done with now and hopefully the young team can use that experience to better themselves. If you take a step back and look at the bigger picture things are not as bad as they seem. A win against Wigan, which is definitely possible, and that would mean we have taken six points from 4 games over Christmas. Not a bad return when you consider we have played Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs.

Lookimg ahead if you can't get posative results (Draws Included) from your next 3 games I think you will start turning on the manager and players, then you will be doomed, the fixtures in Jan and Feb are not the easiest........these next 3 games will shape Villa's season.

Pierre aubameyang to play upfront with Benteke, Sofiane Feghouli AM to sit behind and add some guile & creativity, looking at Rio Ferdinand or Lescott for experience.

Some corners of the Holt calling for a gamble on Glen Hoddle as he has a proven track record of working with youngsters but he will add experience quality players in the right areas as well as his own.. what you think?

Am I the only person on this page that believes signing lower league players is a mistake? All these young kids that PL has thrown into our first team are clearly not good enough, I for 1 do not buy into the constant message we are getting from PL "We will come good, building for the future" blah blah blah. What about the hard working fans who spend the money following this shower home and away? Are we to expect a hiding every other week as part of some master plan? Have a day off Lambert, you are proving that you do not know how to adapt the tactics to who we are playing. I can't wait to hear your excuse when Wigan beat us Sat. WHAT HAS HAPPEN TO OUR CLUB?? AVFC TILL I DIE. {Ed001's Note - do you not rate Westwood? I personally think he is an excellent young player and have been suggesting him as a potential signing for the Prem for a few years. Has he not settled in yet? Only he was standing out for years at Crewe, but I have not seen a lot of him at Villa, and what I have seen he looked good enough, just lacked options to pick out with a pass.}

ED- Westwood at best is average, I notice that you have failed to mention Bennett, Lowton, Bowery all Championshi players at best, plus if all these lot are decent buys, why the hell are we in such a poor position? {Ed001's Note - I just asked the question because I have watched him a lot at Crewe, unlike the others. I have always thought he had the ability to be a good Prem player, though I was thinking more along the lines of a promoted team taking a chance on him. Lowton I am not a fan of, he always looked a Championship player to me, I was surprised he got a Prem move. The others I hadn't seen much of. I was really hoping Westwood would shine for you, he has always seemed such a nice lad, worked hard on his game etc. Maybe he just needs time to get used to the higher level, or maybe it is just too big a step for him, but I hope he comes good for you.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Don't know who you have been watching. The young kids may be a little green but they possess talent. Lowton has a superb first touch, Bennett loves to get forward and can beat players, Westwood is a great passer of the ball and Benteke, enough said.

Agree1 Disagree0

It is the Lambert way to use hungry players, not necessarily young ones, look at Holt for Norwich. What Lambert does need with his way of playing is players who are desperate to pull on the shirt and play as a team, when he managed Norwich the players played as a unit, the wages were all about the same, they were all treated the same, there were no big egos.
With Villa he can only use what he has been left with, some of the players get top wages if they play or not and don't seem bothered if they don't play, as long as the money goes in the bank each week, how can you motivate that kind of player. I thing Lambert will prove to be a top manager in time but he took the Villa job to soon, his premiership management skills are limited and that is showing, when he took the Villa job everyone is expecting instant success and the pressure is to much for a young team with a inexperienced manager, the Prem is not the place to build a team, its too unforgiving as recent results have shown.
