Ron Vlaar of Feyenoord has agreed personal terms with Aston Villa, and the deal just needs a medical and international clearance before it is official. Both teams have agreed a fee of around £4.5m, and Vlaar is excited about working with Lambert.

We paid silly money because the manager at the time spent money like my wife. I see it, I want it, I'll have it. Doen't work for her and it didn't work for the manager otherwise he would still be at AVFC. Warnock was not worth £8.00 let alone £8m but a LB was needed.
