I keep hearing people say "throw in the kids" Do you think if we had something akin to the Manu kids of 92 Garde wouldn't do that?
The fact that the like of Bacuna, Westwood, Gabby etc get in the side week after week suggests not much is coming through from the youth ranks.

I think the real truth of the matter Mendax, is that we are always one of the last teams in the football league to take a real chance on youth.
Other teams do it, we are always saying they are too young etc etc, we loan them out or move them out, its happened many times.
This club of ours needs to start learning and wake up, QUICK.

I partially agree Dave. But let's face it. Loaning them out sort of is giving them a chance (without the burden of home fans expectations) and very few of them have tore up any trees have they?
I have sympathy for Garde in respect that he seems to be a man tasked with cleaning some windows and when he asks for the powers that be to pass him the chamois leather, he is told by Lerner "Sorry, we don't have any of those but here's a turd and some mucky water"

Nobody said that we have to have kids as good as man u ( abit of a strange example mendax) but we do have a good youth set so why not give them a run if the first team squad are worse than a pub team? People talk about confidence but if our kids can't get in that team then our problems our worse than they appear!

If you define a good youth set up as one that does OK when playing people of the same age, we have a good youth set up
If you judge it by the amount of players who make the breakthrough to the full team and when they are there make an impression, our youth team looks pretty poor
We need to be honest with ourselves as a club on these kind of issues
I use Manu as an example because that crop of kids from 92 is widely acknowledged as being an outstanding youth team that broke into the first team
