Not posted on here for a little while. Nothing to do with the doom and gloom which surrounds our beloved club though. I think Saturdays game is massive, 3 points is a must and despite villa being an awful team there's about 5 other teams in this league who aren't much better so there is a chance of survival.

Reason for the post is because I'm scratching my head as to why we are not building a team around adama Traore. I'd play the kid up front alongside gestede, encouraging him to use the space down the channels. He can score goals and create them too, something we desperately need right now and something grealish and Gil just aren't doing. Anyone care to disagree?

Finch.

Not so sure I agree about Gil!
But yes with everything else!

Yes, I'd have Traore in the side ahead of Grealish
However, I'd play him out wide right with Gil at no 10 and Sinclair on the wide left
If you are going to play Gestede, we need the ball in the box from the flanks all afternoon.
Gil has the quick feet and quick brain to capitalise on the havoc Gested can cause with the right service.

As I've said before grealish isn't even good enough to lace the boots of the likes of Barkley, Ali and so on #AVERAGEJACKIEGREALLISH.

i go back to what i said ages ago - Grealish is a lightweight Lee Hendrie, I'm more than happy to be proved wrong, but he seems to be going down the same route on and of the pitch. can't believe he chose england over the republic when he could be going to the euro's this summer instead of waiting for the 12 players in front of him to get injured before he gets a sniff at the three lions shirt.

If he is English, he's English!
I agree with all you said, except this.

I do like gil, he's neat and tidy. But yet to really take a game by the scruff of its neck which most teams have a player who can do that. I find him and grealish frustrating.
Reason for playing adama up top instead of on the wing is because of his defensive frailties. Bought as a winger he could easily make the transition into a supporting striker and having the freedom of the pitch.

I'm confused how people think that having a go at grealish for choosing to want to play for the country he was born in, raised in, and lived his whole life in!
Yes there are many things that he is doing that are stupid, and warrant people riding him for. In my opinion he is a childish spoilt young man. But, being a pro footballer, and wanting to represent his home country is admirable. Believing he is good enough to get in the team is correct, and I hope he pulls it out the bag, as this would only help the villa.
Criticism for this is not fair, positive, or helpful.

Why didn't he play for England under age then,

Was he asked??
Do you think a kid wouldn't jump at any opportunity to show boat him self?
How many full internationals played kids levels else where??
If it mattered at that level, you wouldn't be able to swap!

Flackie, I'm not having a go for anyone being patriotic, my surprise is that a professional footballer is more than likely turning his back on playing international football (and all the bonuses / endorsements etc that go with it) rather than play for a nation that he does have an affinity to.
I would personally rather see him play for Ireland than wait around to get his England chance which is looking remote at best right now.

But he isn't Irish. I would be eligible to play football for Ireland, but as I was born here, grew up here, I wouldn't even consider playing for them.

Because he had the chance, or played at youth level doesn't mean he should.
Being patriotic to his country of birth as admiral.
I don't agree by the way he should of been able to swap, but when he had the choice/chance or option, he chose the country he was born in.
He has made many bad choices this lad, but this was the correct one, and he still gets pelters for it!

He was also forced to choose before it was clear that Ireland would qualify
Who care any way. It's how he plays for us that I'm interested in.

Agree with flackie untill someone tells me it's mathmaticaly impossible for us to remain in the prem then i will believe we have every chance of staying up, just as sunderland, bournmouth, newcastle and norwich have, yes we are 4 points behind our nearest rivals but it is NOT an impossible task stranger things have happend in the prem over the last couple seasons just look at the top, the top four has changed, i have read posts of supporters already writing us off against watford OK so we are not playing to the best of our ability at the moment and RG has had 2 games ffs give him a little time people screaming for his head and he's not the right man ffs IF we are going down as you seem to be so positive about, then let RG do his job untill the end of the season and then judge him however you want i'd be happy with 17th at the moment!
