We've had 2 managers that have bought crap for 2 seasons and an escallating wage budget that has been spent on players with no desire. Lambert has had 6 months to sort that out, put down his philosophy and develop the squad with only 20 MILLION.

Mon had 4 years to do the same but had 200 MILLION.

The idea is just starting to come together and I think it would be stupid to sack him, especially after only 6 months. Very few clubs get far by changing managers every year and those who don't are successful, for example everton.

It's stability we need not change.

Believable3 Unbelievable6

How many points do you think we will need to stay in the league this season?

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sure we will in the championship

Agree2 Disagree0

Lambert needs backing, we need to sart keeping clean sheets ! we havwe enough fire power to win games its just the defensive side !

We need a diame / sissko dawson

Agree1 Disagree3

To get clean sheets we need to learn how to defend set pieces as Villa seem to have forgotten how to

Agree4 Disagree0

Vlaar and benteke both at fault for the bradford goal last night! poor marking and unable to cut the cross out, and these are our air threat and defence its no wonder we concede at so many set pieces, we need to look at the coaching of the players we have and try to bring the players together to make a team. we have individuals with skill but seem to lack the togetherness as a team.

come on you lions!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Mon nearly had us in the champs league and lambert nearly has us in championship. which 1 do you want. some fans need their heads looked at, defending a rubbish manager and slatting 1 of the best we ever had.

Agree4 Disagree1

You say Lambert and the team need backing, Now is that for 90 minutes or leave when your loseing, That says a lot to your team, Look at Carrow road Full for 90+, Lambert got all the support and respect that he deserved here, you wanted him you thought he would do the same for you as he did here, the big difference is he had players here that wanted to win.

Agree3 Disagree0

Yes maybe mon got us inches from the champs league but the like of man city spurs everton and liverpool wernt as strong as they are now.

Lerner needs to spend some money on a ball winning cm. I'm getting really annoyed with Watching bannan and Delph try and do something they are unable to do. Delph should play lb instead of Bennett that and maybe rotate them. But the answer to our problems is a cdm if we don't get one we are going down simple. With people like sissoko on the market and even Derek boateng for that matter going at a cheap price it really winds me up that our billionaire owner can't shell out some pocket money on us. I'm normally a fan of lerners but as it goes I'm completely fuming with the goings on. Lambert out some may say? He's had little resources to keep us up and it cannot be blamed on him he may have left out bent but he does not give a damn about the villa and is happy collecting his paycheck and making a sporadic appearance, other than a few tap ins what does bent offer? We don't play the style of football to accommodate a player like him. Lambo may have spent 20m but he has done so trying to fill empty spaces. It's up to good old randy to save us and if I'm honest guys I can't see it happen.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Are you for real I was a fan of lambert but if you can't coach a prem team to beat a team in the 4th tier of football oveer two legs then you simply not good enough! his subs were dire and basically handed them the final!!

Agree3 Disagree0

Not to mention the team that beat you twice only cost £750.000. what chance of beating anyone in the premier league Bradford have beaten more prem teams than you or QPR have this season

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2013 22:32:28
Fair play to bradford... But uno what ?? What do you expect when you play barry bannan his the worst player I've saw in our midfield ever!! He can't pass a ball 5 yards can't tackle what does he bring to our side?? Over rated.... Ciaran clark over rated can't defend can't head.... Ireland dosnt wanna be there.... Delph shoots like his boots on the wrong feet falls over can't tackle.... Bennett hasn't got a clue what his doing... I think we are going down hurts me to say that but can't see it any other way

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Bannan should retire from football he is a liability

Good luck to Bradford, I don't know what the answer is but tonight was disaster. AVFC Till I Die!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lets not forget which premiership clubs they knocked out aside from us, bradfords name is on the cup.they deserved the win, hats off to them, their keeper was superb, villa fan 45 yrs, dublin villian

Agree2 Disagree0

22 Jan 2013 21:51:14
Any premiership club that have yet to play Villa this season, they are there for the taking, lets relegate them

Believable12 Unbelievable4

22 Jan 2013 21:49:59
Im a villa supporter of over 55 years, and I would just like to say well done to Bradford you deserved to go through tonight well done. As for you mister Lambert I would suggest you clear your desk tonight and take the rest of the staff with you, you don't deserve any more time at this club.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Come come old chap, you can't be at a ground chanting for the oppositions manager then eight months later want rid of him

Agree3 Disagree4

Well said my friend. This is though the lowest point in my lifetime of supporting this great club. We will be back I have no doubt with the continued support of all Villa fans. We may not have reached the bottom just yet but I will keep the faith and I would implore all fans to do the same. Owners, Chief Execs, Managers and Players alike come and go but we shall always remain. Villa till I die!

Agree1 Disagree1

I hope Lerner tells all the fans and media Lambert is staying, then a few days later sacks him...It will be nice for him to know how it feels, remember what goes around comes around.

Agree4 Disagree0

Not a villa fan just a neutral..really worried for you guys because this downward spiral started since last season and hasn't been addressed..you need a new coach, not that lambert is bad but in this your situation you need someone with experience who has new ideas and can motivate your players..or your owner releases funds to sign new players, if not I think you guys should prepare for the championship

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Glen hoddle

Agree2 Disagree3

Can't afford huddle

Agree1 Disagree0

Wolves fan here with no animosity as regards to Villa at all..In fact, I'm quite saddened by what's happening across the other side of the M5.

But please don't go for Hoddle. If you do go down (which is looking plausible), take it from experience, he will NOT bring you back up.

Good lucks

Agree3 Disagree1

Fair play, to the above post. We are in trouble, Deano will sort your lot out.

Agree3 Disagree0

^^ I really hope you are right..I'm not yet convinced by Deano's hoofball however, or indeed convinced the board will let him spend..We are in dire straits at the moment, with a board that won't open up funds..I suspect a sale coming on..

But we are not alone..West Midlands football is in right mess in general, and I don't like it at all.I may laugh at the Blues struggling, but in reality, they really are in a state. And you lot seem to be following suit.I'd implore you lot to have some faith in Lambert..After all, it wasn't his mess that got you where you are now.It was that Scottish berk you got from across town..And if you do go down, Lambert is the right man to bring you back up.

The Wolves fan, concerned for the state of our football

Agree2 Disagree0

But looking on the bright side, If Walsall get promoted that will be a heck of a lot of local derbys for you.

You robbed Lambert, thought he would do the same with you like he did at Norwich, The Norwich fans are delighted for you and hope you enjoy the Championship.

Watching you last night gave every prem team that has to play you a warm glow feeling of 3 points,
coming thier way and hope come May 4th you are down

I am loving watching you fools on tv tonight.....NCFC fan

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Haha me to lambert thanks for leaving

Agree2 Disagree0

Hey toon fan, you can laugh, your team is as bad as we are, championship beckons for ncfc also..............

Agree3 Disagree2

Lol toon fan? Since when is ncfc nufc? Ncfc is Norwich duh, why would Newcastle fans care about your team? I'm a Sunderland fan and I'd like to wish villa well for rest of the season starting with 3 points from the game against the French revolution.....

Agree3 Disagree0

?? try Norwich City FC - incase you needed confirmation Newcastle United (NU not NC) :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Canary or Magpie, you are both in trouble. Canaries 1 pt from 18, Villa 2 pts from 18. Not sure about Magpies. But the old wives tale is that when you see an odd number of Magpies there will be problems. 11 is an odd number.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not as much trouble as you sunshine, and both Norwich and Newcastle have the resources and ability to sort it out, you however don't. Three points from you for both teams will help.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

You sold out to the USA, can't you take the rough times glory hunter??

Agree3 Disagree3

You wanted him, now you can keep him

Agree3 Disagree1

Ha so glad he left norwich

Agree6 Disagree0

Lambert is glad he left Norwich, all you egg boilers are a waste of time. What was the last score Canaries 1 Lions 4.

Agree0 Disagree1

Lions??? Where have they run off to,,,,,, pussies more like.....lol

22 Jan 2013 21:21:56
Question: what's it feel like for a premiership clubs fans, albeit not for much longer, to be made to look like mugs by a league two club, not once but twice - so not a fluke ??

Believable10 Unbelievable0

22 Jan 2013 21:10:59
Dear oh dear, Bradford making you look like mugs

Believable8 Unbelievable0

This is true! young but no talent, this is our standard

Agree2 Disagree0

22 Jan 2013 20:58:44
Taxi for Lambert

Believable6 Unbelievable1

And he can take the rest of the mediocre squad with him. Are you watching Mr Faulkner?

Agree3 Disagree0

22 Jan 2013 20:06:32
Benteke the beast, with his gloves in cause his hands get cold...... Bless

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Yeah.....the nickname doesn't really go with wooly gloves does it?

Agree2 Disagree0

22 Jan 2013 16:31:02
simple solution to save the season -revert to a 442 formation, because at the moment no 1 seems to know what position they are playing. defensively the midfield is non existent, the edge of the 18 yard box is a chocolate box for opposition

Believable3 Unbelievable0

22 Jan 2013 14:11:53
ok fellow villians, heres my prediction for 2 nite, benteke scores 2 goals in first 10 mins, weimann scores 2, flood gates open, villa through to final,,,,,,,,,,,, cmon you lions

Believable2 Unbelievable4

Would love to see this, but it'd take a mirical.
Will stay hopeful, but on our resent performance can't see it happening

Agree1 Disagree3

I reckon 4-1 tonight for Villa

Benteke 2
N'zogbia 1
Weiman 1

and for the visitors Wells 1

Agree2 Disagree2

Think 4-1 is a likely outcome, hope we play like we have nothing to lose rather than playing like we have everything to lose.

Based on the first leg we are the underdogs so c'mon lads let's perform like we did against man united and Albion in the first 45 mins, Wembley beckons

Agree1 Disagree1

I hope you put in a performance like you did against Chelsea...Come on you Bradford

Agree3 Disagree0

Bradford will park the bus tonight and it will take up till 70 mins to break the deadlock, we will take it to extra time and pens penalty hero will be hero that's my prediction.

come on you lions!!

Agree1 Disagree1

Not going to plan is it yam yams,,, haha

Agree2 Disagree0

Um..... Nice predictions... Loooooosers

Agree2 Disagree0

Excuse me Villa fans from previous postings, I think if you need to go to your local bakers and purchase a large portion of Humble Pie then start tucking in

Agree1 Disagree0

Whooops

Agree0 Disagree0

And they still believe Norwich didn't let them win shame

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2013 01:21:36
The fact we moved out of the relegation zone with a decent point should not mask the facts, a better side would have devoured us, AM {although a much hated negative tactician}would not have let a 2 nil lead slip nor would he have substituted Nzogbia irrespective of his recent return from injury.

Vlaar's return was welcomed and our saviour, Benteke, Lowton have been PL best purchases probably on the advice from others more knowledgeable & Savi about the game.

Aston Villa actually don't need that much to create a more industrial menacing side. we need steel & creative thrust in the middle and the final third. Lerner must get Coutinho a snip @£10mill or less {our new Merson/Ginola our affordable Silva/Mata} even the likes of Newcastle/Liverpool could exploit this bargain. Sissoko @ £3mill is a NO Brainer and as for Aubameyang he should be an immediate replacement for Dire Bent.

BENT MUST GO even for £9mill if we're lucky otherwise he'll cost us more in the long term. Bent would never in a million years have scored the type of Goal the Awesome BENTEKE did, even hit and miss Gabby's goal would be beyond Bent so why have him on the bench let alone on our payroll.

The fact we haven't made any progress in the transfer market reveals a much bugger problem at the club, the more the clock runs down the harder it will be, the loss of sponsorship is just the beginning,, LERNER take note speculate to accumulate it's worst in the championship, we all know as fans that you've spent a tidy some on the club but that was in the hands of your poor appointments, Get the above three players if PL is the wrong man to motivate winners then replace him now, otherwise he is your man for now & the championship SO BACK HIM ON QUALITY SIGNINGS ONLY!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You seem to have forgotten Bent kept you up when you bought him..... He bought you some time but now the time is almost up.
