Apparently the latest now is benteke wants a move to tottenham finalised by thursday. His attitude on the whole situation is appaling. Would like to see benteke go as soon as possible. Think he has shown his true colours by handing in a transfer request and has no respect when we gave him his break and took a risk with him. We consistently left out a proven premier league goalscorer in his favour and spent 7 million on a virtually unheard player. Its a shame he could have been a legend but we survived without him before and we will again. Without bale tottenham are a very average side and certainly with or without bale will not be challenging for the title next season and are not even in the champions league either. So why does he want to go there so much? £££££££? Hopefully we will get 25 million for him and he will flop there

It states he doe`s not want to turn up for training on Thursday, and wants it sorted in 72 hours.

This only indicates to me, you are afraid to face your team mates who welcomed you, and PL who gave you your big chance.

Shame on you Benteke and your agent.

Its sad, but this is an indictment on world football. There are barely any "club heroes" like we used to have in the glory days.

Noone could give a s*** about pride or passion of the fans, instead, players run off at the first sign of money.

Until there is a cap introduced, we will never win a thing i'm afraid. All of the leagues in teh world are almost pre determined with only three or four team any realistic shot at winning the trophy.

There must be a cap so that player management/coaching/junior development comes back and figures in the premier league.

Rich get richer poor get relegated. Football is dying these days in my eye. I have to support two teams, Aston Villa, the team I have always supported and loved and Chelsea, as they are atleast always going to make CL and gives me someone to follow during the comp so there is atleast some interest.

This is the way I have learned to "cope" with the vast disparity that we have in the game today.

Difficult to see which way the Benteke saga will go.
Looks like Spurs will not meet the 25m price and with a dirth of other suitors at the moment it could get awkward.

I think we should get this Constagios guy anyway or at least line the deal up. Give Benteke until August to apologise or freeze him out.

Perhaps someone like Athletico will come in with a late 20m swoop as the price should be 25m for Spuds and 20m for anyone else. I just want a settled and sorted squad in time for the new season kick off day.

I think Athletico will be happy with David Villa as Falcao's replacement. It doesn't look like Spurs will cough up enough but who knows. Personally I don't think anyone will make an acceptable offer for Benteke and he'll end up staying for another season or maybe even just to January, but my opinion doesn't mean much.

We don't have to sell him to anyone we can keep him here you think he will go on strike with the world cup coming up I don't think so if he wants to go to chas and dave fc the mans head needs looking at because we can pay the same wages as them if we need to I would want 30 mill at least for him and upfront messing hopefully he will be still next season with his fizhog sorted up the villa

News on London media is the deal will be 23m with add ons a 5 year deal worth 85k a week

Benteke's not leaving, he'll sign a new contract by august 1st

Shay given, stephen ireland and alan hutton will all be gone by the end of the month.

Can`t wait to see the back of Ireland and Hutton.

Have got to go down as two of Villa`s worst ever signings.

I keep reading Totenham are preparing to test villa`s resolve with a bid of 20 mil for Benteke.

Is levy stupid or what, sources at villa park have stated that 25 mil is the going price and NOT a penny less.

Read the papers Mr Levy its 25 MILLION.

I can`t help thinking that all this is going to backfire on our man and he will end up staying put,
