I have been here many times and moaned at fans for being too negative - so your turn to turn on me!
One of two things are happening. Either we're waiting to sign players, because at some point players are going to want to leave their own clubs for more playing time and the only way to convince them is when they have no other option than Villa - Or theirs no plan.
So on the 11th of January (10 days in) there is a meeting to discuss who we buy whilst every club around us buys the players they need. Sunderland have a bayern Munich defender, Newcastle have just signed Saviet from Bordeaux Bournmouth have just spent £18m on 2 strikers (grabban grossly overpriced) whilst we sit still. Bournmouth are in trouble because of financial fair play from last year but even with that in mind they're pushing on.
I'm Not saying we can be saved because I don't think we can now but the this transfer window will be the biggest indication as to where Randy see's us. A few years ago he spent £24m on Darren bent to keep us up. This month we'd be lucky to get Dareen Bent back, in fact we'd be lucky to get Marcus Bent.

I see your point but the last thing we need right now is rushed decisions. We are in a fairly unique position of being almost certainly relegated by the January window so there isn't much of a history to look back at and draw out what the best action to take in this scenario is. We have been pinching every penny for years so to go out now and spend spend spend to try and stay up will reverse everything Lambert had to do during his tenure. I imagine that wholesale changes to the current playing squad will be being discussed with a view to the long term. It will be just as interesting to see who is sold as who is brought in. If I was in charge the first action would be to identify the players who will not want to play championship football or are too good and get the most money for them as possible. They will only go on the cheap once were relegated so it makes financial sense. Replace them with some promising academy players and buy from the championship. Start getting together that nucleus of a squad and use the rest of the season to get them playing well together.

But at least there are talks going on so we should see something happening in the next few days.

Deep down I know you're right Andy. We're down and the best thing to do if you use your head is to start to build for next season. It's the heart over head thing that creeps in that sees us beating palace tomorrow, signing 2 or 3 good players and going on a 3/ 4 game winning run (LOL) . My head knows we're down but my heart wants to fight on. It's a shame some of our players don't feel the same.

I agree that meetings should have been taking place earlier, but they probably have been behind the scenes. Plus we had that run of 'easier' fixtures over Christmas where everyone was hoping we would pick up a win or two and maybe push on a bit and if that had been the case then investment and a big survival push might have been on the cards. Sadly pretty much the opposite happened. We get a couple of unconvincing draws whereas our closest competition pick up wins no one was expecting and pull even further away. Everyone can see we are down, so what we need to do is make the best of our situation and by that I mean make sure the clubs finances are healthy and build a team that will smash the championship next year and bring us back at the first attempt.

What a sorry state we are in
Pathetic displays on the pitch
An emergency meeting called in Mid January
Players who don't give a s***
An owner who cares even less
Fans falling out with each other
Fans booing and haranguing the team after the games
Fans booing and haranguing the team BEFORE the games
We are a calamity on and off the pitch
We are a calamity on and off the terraces
Have I missed anything?
I'm going to bed and I'm not getting up until it's all finished.

I don't like Justin Bieber, so I'd think myself pretty foolish if I should take my hard earned money and hand it over for a ticket to one of his concerts to then attend and boo for the entire duration before finally verbally abusing him as he left the arena and boarded his bus.

The only person winning in that situation would be Justin Bieber, because at the end of the day what the fu*k does he care what I think and he's got paid.

Now let's apply that principle to Aston Villa. For those of you who are still planning to attend games or have season ticket commitments.
Ask yourself the question of why you would pay or put the effort into travelling to a game to boo and abuse your own team.
Who exactly is winning in this situation?
There's only one man to boo and he can;'t hear you because he is not there.

Booing the players, decreases confidence if there is any left, booing the manager does the same thing, fighting with other supporters makes us look prehistoric and thuggish.

If you all put half as much effort into staying away for 3 or 4 games as you did booing and shouting, things might have already changed.

People argue they have the right to boo, because they've paid their money and they have their own opinions and that's fine I completely agree, but what about the other people around you who don't always agree? Or who visit the games to support the players no matter what the result? What about the potential players the club are looking to attract, would your antics make them want to come here?

I do not mean to offend anyone, I wish for all Villa fans to unite against the owner, not fight amongst themselves or the players or the manager or even the ceo, for all their own individual faults it has been at the control of one man, the only person that can change things is too scared to face you. Has been since day one.

I beg, plead for those of you going to the game tomorrow, do not boo, if you must demonstrate your feelings then direct them at the owner not at the players or the manager or other fans, the owner is to blame.

Just remember this, if you're a supporter you support the team, win lsoe or draw if you can't do that, you stay away. If you visit and boo and moan and ruin the time for everyone else around you, you are just a customer, like me at the Justin Bieber concert, and you're losing.

At least if you roar the team on and they get a result you have contributed, if you boo and they lose, what benefit was there for attending?

The best kind of protest is the kind where nobody enters the stadium, no who can hurl the most abuse, or steel the most wheelchairs. makes you look like blues fans.

watched villa n wycombe over the weekend and it was pretty much like my old school report, must try harder lacks effort and desire does not show any ambition or creativity work rate is very poor and is easily distracted! Yes another dire performance but sadly yet again another Neanderthal so called villa fan went above and over the top with his rant at the players, think he must of wrote down every swear word in the dictionary and screamed them at the players right down to RG as they were boarding the coach regardless of the younger supporters that was there not to mention the woman and I wonder if he has any children and dare I ask if so what would his reaction be if it was someone else behaving as bad as he did infront of his children? I'm sorry it was unacceptable and TBH I am very surprised that the police who was stood right by him never removed him or arrested him for the usual public order offence. Yes we are diabolical at the moment we are all frustrated we all get angry at the performances we know we are better than we are but untill we turn that corner we have to ride the storm but with vile language and abuse that was shouted at the players WHO in there right mind would want to come and play for us?

Villa manager Remi Garde hopes to be handed a large transfer fund to turn around the club's season after talks with the board.

the suns headline today sums it up for me really, its the 11th and either he hasn't been given the money to spend or he doesn't even know what he can spend.

11 Jan 2016 18:39:05
Emergency meeting! . You would think the meeting would have been held weeks ago and all the transfer targets sorted out to get straight away in Jan

This is a complete and utter joke! . Just about sums up our club at the moment

We need a striker now.

Hi Flackie
Maybe "more than most " was passion coming though
Something our team lacks
Interesting reading in the sun
Garde to get backing
If you read the article he could walk if not backed with money
Another villa management cock up?

The list of useless players we need to get rid of is endless.

Guzan
Steer
Senderos
Hutton
Bacuna
Crespo
Richardson
Sanchez
Nzogbia
Gestede
Kodak
Gabby

Any I missed? And how many of these will go to prem clubs ha.

11 Jan 2016 07:19:08
Senderos, crespo steer, and Kozak haven't really been given a chance this season, so can't really call them useless.

11 Jan 2016 09:24:01
i do not agree with guzan or hutton

guzan if you remove the silly mistakes is a bloody good shot stopper, he might not be the best keeper we have ever had but he's been a damn good servent over the years and if i remember rightly kept us in this league only 2 or 3 seasons ago for a couple seasons. but feel we do need a change

hutton for me if has been one the better players this season once in a while yes he's out of position but he has put more crosses in the area where if we had a better player like benteke on the end rather than that useless lump we could have scored hell lot more and if he's bombing forward other players should cover for him i say.
