(First time poster) I've been reliably informed that Dean Smith will be sacked if we lose our next two games. With Moyes or Allardyce to come in to "Fire Fight" part time to ensure PL survival.
I hope this not the case as I'm a fan of DS but something's got to change as the current system isn't working.

Rubbish, if they was going to do that he wouldn't have a got a new deal only few weeks ago. We might go down but we will get us back up if we do. I have faith in him its just confidence and we have had bad injurys to mings an mcginn. Why do people keep linking moyes an big sam to us for there crap. We are a year ahead of schedule and to be fair its hard to get rid of a whole team and get a new 1 in an start wining straight away. We need to back dean smith even if we go down.

Hello all I'm lionrangers9.
Just like to say I've been watching villa boys for some 55yrs at 10yrs old. may I say that I agree 100% with walk. the. walk. also not Smith to blame really his instructions are not implemented by players on pitch. what I can't understand is why the team nearly all of so have the same game to play poorly and why so many times now could you not run your heart out playing on the best pitch in premier if not world including our brilliant stadium and our brilliant supporters I feel very sad seeing us so low 18th so quickly come on villa boys you can rise above the rest down there get moving if you love the villa deeply like your supporters do then get going don't leave it to late.
Think need better players in left back maybe one more hard skilfully midfielder and two new forwards there's plenty out there to get don't think Wesley is totally to blame as he needs another forward to help you don't see top sides with just one forward if we are famed so far to be attacking side then for goodness sake get more forwards in asap sorry to have gone on, but I love the villa always have always will.

Surely it’s better to stay in the league than get relegated? I don’t believe DM or SA are the long term answer. They’ll bring stability as they know the league. For me DS has to change tactics or be supported in the next transfer window. Will FFP get in the way though? Maybe sell to buy?

No point in trying to convince these lot on here mate, I put that across staying in the prem is vital and being in prem and a solid side is important these lot are happy with a 2nd rate manager whose going to take bck the championship, bigsam is a class manager people need to wake up there heads are in the clouds most villa fans I speak to want Smith gone and bigsam in his record is class and keeps teams up makes them solid and hard to beat, Everton finished 8th with him wots wrong with that.

@ DBS1983 - In your opinion so far has Emi Buendia looked like a PL player? because what I have seen he hasn't. Don't let price tags deceive you.

I have to agree with your sentiment. Spending 33m on Emi Buendia was a gamble, one that hasn't paid off. If things don't improve I think it is curtains for Dean Smith. I'm beginning to think last season was a fluke. I really thought we'd kick on but the same problems exist as of two seasons ago.
I really doubt Mings is a PL quality player, too inconsistent. Selling Jack Grealish was a good move but the money from his sale wasn't very well invested. I don't think we'll get relegated, but we won't be setting the league on fire either.

Just not good enough. We’re playing championship football. Things are looking bleak. I’m hoping DS can turn this around, more money in January to spend and we’ll be okay (is the ffp a real thing or jealous fans tripe? )

Deano took us as far as he could. I'd like to thank him for everything, getting us back to the PL and keeping us in the PL! what I do wonder is who is actually buying the players? was it Dean Smith or Johan Lange?
Here is a manager's name nobody has mentioned: Nuno Espirito Santos, he did relatively well with the Dingles.
