If you are talking about someone who can push Watkins from day one then for me it’s Schick or Mateta if it’s an up and coming centre forward then it’s more difficult as we missed an opportunity with Delap he would have been ideal but unfortunately that boat has sailed. I think I would opt for Victor Boniface at Leverkusen a brute of a centre forward but skilful and knows where the net is and at 24 will only get better.

I’d go Kilicsoy of Besiktas because we’ve tried in Jan, and Calvert Lewin on a free, why have 1 back up when you can have 2 for under £20M, potential and proven, if DCL keeps fit then he’s an asset, frees up the bigger money for other positions

Ferguson would of being a good option, personally I’d go look in South America for a rough diamond, go spend 10 or 15 million on a guy around 21 or so and let him be Watkins understudy. I’ve started to follow MLS a bit lately, 1 guy who caught my eye is Evander (Brazilian) of Cincinnati, bangs in the goals, but I think he’s 26 or 27 so not our usual profile
