Defensively we are absolutely shambolic.
Totally and utterly unacceptable.
I'm afraid if the coaches can't see it then they need replacing.
Whatever system they're working on during the week clearly isn't working.
And yes, I am banging that drum again.
Absolutely fuming. We are so open at the back it's untrue.
Championship teams defend better than this lot.

Any team that plays 45 mins of football that creates zero chances and loses the ball in silly areas of the pitch runs the risk of being undone. You could have the best back 4 in the world and they would be exposed in those circumstances. Clearly I'm not saying we have a world class back 4, but being caught out of position defensively due to losing the ball unexpectedly is very different to having an incorrect starting position/shape.
Amazing what happens when we function in both halves of the pitch.

I’m just very frustrated that we concede in almost every game (strangely not so bad in CL? ) .
I know I’ve bemoaned our defensive issues a lot on here, maybe too much ??‍♂️, but it is a problem and needs sorting.
The corner that never was got us out of gaol tonight. Even VAR (if it had been available) couldn’t have overturned it, which is bizarre.
Round 4 and a nice away tie somewhere like Derby or Sheffield Wednesday would do me.
