I thought we was the ones who'd had a week off, we looked out of it . Out played, out thought and amazed that Tottenham actually kept that press on for 90mins . Gifted them 3 goals, Torres playing the ball out was terrible. We where completely baffled by that press, we just couldn't play out of it .

Dave agree, you know my views on Torres and it becomes more evident every game. Our defence with Torres and Carlos in the middle really do struggle, Konsa has to play in the middle, I appreciate the Cash injury forced the change, however Emery has had plenty of time to sort the right back issue. So for me Kamara and Mings have to start if Mcginn has to start he has to stop turning in to trouble giving the ball away to often. We have a bigger squad however, how many of the bench are good enough to start. Bailey, Philogene, Buendia have had no impact when they play. So a number of us on here said we needed at least four or five at the start of the season and I still think three or four is not far off the case.

Despite your concerns Scotty, Torres will be Emery’s first choice centre half because of his ability to bring the ball out from the back, Mings maybe better in the air and probably a tad quicker but I think Emery values Torres ability to play out more.

LOTM, Torres didn't do a good job today bringing the ball out cost us one of the goals and his defending wasn't much better. Give me a quick defender who can head a ball and read the game any time.

Well I guess it’s all about opinions but everyone’s entitled to the odd bad game, I don’t see Torres being dropped for PL games anytime soon.

Scott, I tend to agree with a lot you say to be honest as I don’t but into this thing where we have to be positive about everything all the time and if we don’t then we aren’t “real fans” etc.

But we have a specific style of play and Torres is key to that, to drop him for Mings would be lunacy as we’d just revert back to Mings lumping it into a channel at every chance he gets.

One player that seems to be immune is Ezri VVD Konsa, he appears to be keen on maintaining stats of not being dribbled past as opposed to engaging a player and making life difficult for the opposition attackers.
If you want a header and tackler with a yard of pace like Mings then I’m taking konsa out at the moment. Yes I understand two left footed centre halves but if one’s able to pick passes and break lines and the other is willing to engage an attacker and make life horrible for the opposition then they can have 3 left feet each for all I care.
