Terrible news about Sid, for someone who's had a career like his, to lose all those memories is so wrong . As I'll fans we all knew his talent and worth, but sadly not by others . Alan Mcanally summed him up, by saying he was Villas Tom Brady . He said as soon as I spun forwards, I knew a ball would come sailing over my shoulder. Sid was a genius with his accurate passing, best in the business. Players like Platt, certainly should appreciate him, Sid made his career. Just a shame he didn't get more England call ups, he was certainly good enough .

Dave, for any of our younger posters he weren't fortunate enough to watch Sid regularly, he played like Glen Hoddle but a far better tackler, his touch and vision were better than Dougie and that's high praise.Hope his final year's are as comfortable as possible.

In all the years I have watched Villa he is the second best Villa player I have ever seen play behind McGrath. If he had played for a London side he would have had double or treble the number of England caps. In my opinion he was as good as Hoddle if not better, the man could land a ball on a sixpence.
