The longer the season goes on I'm getting more annoyed about Matt targett's loan, is there any update on digne and if he's out for the rest of the season?

I fully agree Whack. Funny though, a lot of posters on this site couldn't wait to see the back of him

It was crazy to let Targett go, if Digne was miles better maybe but I don't think he's any better.

I thought that Gerrard wanted Targett to stay but once he knew of Newcastle’s interest he wanted to go. I think Gerrard takes the view that if someone doesn’t want to stay they don’t have to hence why Targett has ended up at Newcastle and why he will in all probability be sold in the summer .

I can see both sides guy's, and of course no one could forsee an injury to Digne.I was one in the Targett not good enough camp, mainly because he lacks an attacking threat, an essential part of a full backs role, unfortunately i don't think we have bought much of an all round improvement. I just hope we don't follow this pattern when we ship out in the summer clear out, we must buy much better than we have or we could be in the Targett, Digne boat.

I’m imagining the conversation went more along these lines:

Gerard: “I’ve just signed Digne as our number one left back”

Targett: “ What?! I’m A Premiership quality left back. Does that mean I’m now no longer a regular choice for the position?”

Gerard: “ Calm down, calm down. You’ll still get to play every other game as that’s how often Digne will be out injured “

Targett: “ Naff off, I’m off to dig the Geordies out of the relegation mire and become a fan-hero as opposed to the dogs abuse I get here every week.

Gerard: “Bye then”
