Our two centre backs defensive stats compared for this season.their percentile is in brackets.

In short Mings defends more.and uses the ball more.

You can have one defender who primarily defends next to the ball playing centre back but that isn't really our dynamic.we have one centre back responsible for both and another who doesn't do much.

These low numbers for Konsa don't necessarily reflect his ability as a defender but it does show how uninvolved he is.

Mings defends badly.
Konsa doesn't defend.

Iv if you read my earlier post i had picked up on Konsa's performance for a while before reading your stats,, Mings does far more, unfortunately with too many mistakes. But it really highlights our defensive issues.

Wonder if anyone has the stats for mistakes leading to goals il put my bottom dollar on mine been a lot higher than konsa

The other question you need to ask is his stats high because the opposition know he has the tendancy to screw up and try to exploit this weakness?
(like last night on at least 2 of 3 goals)

1st goal he didn't give it away, he tackled a player and another one picked up the pieces.
2nd goal the ball looped over him, like with the Everton game he can't grow several inches.
3rd goal he fluffed the clearance but if he wasn't there it would have been a goal anyway, why was nobody else covering the attackers for the rebound?

Rk, i think people are too quick to criticise mings, as i have said he does more good than bad, i just wish he would cut out his lapses of concentration. I think he lacks support from those around him at times. I have watched a couple of highlights of recent games and Konsa really doesn't bring a lot to the party. If we want to move up to the next level we need to up our defensive game.

Agree, Konsa has gone off the boil under Gerrard unfortunately. We'd love if players never made mistakes but there's very few mistake free defenders around these days. Outside of Rudiger and Dias every defender in the league would have similar issues facing the number of attacks We do.
