Looks like Deano is going to get the Norwich job, here's hoping he keeps them up. A good guy and I would argue a decent manager who was shabbily treated by his boyhood club.

No point harping on it mate, he wasn’t treated any different to Bruce, probably treated better, Bruce stabilised us at our lowest point. he had no problem leaving Walsall for Brentford and no problem leaving g Brentford mid season to come to us. couple of million in his pocket for his troubles, I for one wouldn’t mind being in his shoes. appreciate what he’s done for us but we move on now and wish him the best of luck. still my opinion that he was piggy backing off grealish, his stats without jack tell a sorry story, I know he got us up but he wouldn’t of done it without jack or Tammy, neither of which did he bring to the club. I do hope he gets the Norwich job it will show what he’s made of

I agree with you re moving on Whack and I won’t be referring to Smith again but you won’t persuade me anything other than he was shabbily treated by the club, I also don’t agree with your point re him piggybacking off Jack, although Jack was playing under Bruce he was never given the licence to express himself as he was under Smith and I haven’t checked the stats but I am willing to bet his goals and assists ratio were far better under Smith than Bruce. Also the point about not doing it without Jack and Tammy would Liverpool have won the title without Salah and Van Dyke?

Smith and Grealish clicked,Smith was good for Grealish, trusted him, made him captain gave him the freedom to play. In return Grealish put in the performances and because he was our best player kept the rest of the team behind Deano. I'd say that was a great mutually beneficial relationship. Smith also brought Mings in which was the catalyst for our rise. Bit like the Brian Clough/Peter Taylor relationship,neither were quite as good apart as they were together.

Personally I think Mings is our weak link, no time for sentiment because he was in the promotion team
