people forget were astonvilla why should we be happy finishing mid table every seaseon that's no ambition, with squad we have we should be finishing 8th at best . most fans on here only bck him anyway because he supports villa so that gives him leway for bad performances, people need to wake up most people i know who are villa supporters can see were not going anywhere with ds in charge, we are 3 players short from being a really good side in my opinion, i just hope our owners see sense and get rid of the weakest link and take mings and target with him there 2 of worst players I've seen at vp and one shouldn't no way near be captain of our club not even vice its a joke, i fear for us this season we could struggle even ncastle could finish higher than us with there wealth now.

Nathan Baker, ciaran Clarke, joe bennet to name 3 defenders a heck of a lot worse than mings and targett. can’t blame the players, they ain’t being coached properly imo, if they ain’t playing the way dean wants them to they shouldn’t be on the pitch, the buck stops with smith, I can’t see Newcastle finishing higher than us this year, I fancy them to go down and I really hope they do as it will give us an extra year or 2 to flex our muscles before they can spend stupid money.

Well done for highlighting just how childish and ridiculous some of the statements in that post were ?.

Disagree with you in the coaching but, but can sort of see where your coming from. I just think they were good enough to limit them to two real chances, one being the Traore run and the other when Konsa played it straight to their man and Mings got back to block the shot. What happened in the last 10 minutes for me is just inexcusable from the players, if the whole management team walked out the ground and told them to get on with it when it was 2-0, as professional players, there is no way on this planet you should be losing that game. Some of the stuff leading up to the first and second was beyond coaching.

I guess your right we shouldn’t be losing from that position and players should be able to remain calm and compose themselves at this point, they have had some big games, being under huge pressure at times but that came out of nowhere, we were winning easily while not playing anything like our best, as soon as nakamba came on our defenders started to panick, our players should of responded better after conceding the first, I know the subs were forced in a way but each one had a negative effect,
I don’t want to be in a group of smith out posters, I just have huge doubts about his ability to bring us any further, our owners come across pretty ambitious so I don’t know how long they will remain patient, the Newcastle takeover will make our goal of top 6 even harder, if the ownership don’t see a way to progress up the table they will stop pumping money in.

I don't think anyone has said on here that they'd be happy with Villa finishing mid table every year. just that mid table is probably where we should be expecting to finish at this time. If someone had offered us 3/ 4 years ago a scenario where we'd go from a mid table championship side to a mid table premier league team in 3 years and then it would take us another season or two to build a squad capable of challenging for Europe I bet everyone on here would've snapped their hand off. We're in the middle of a plan. We just need a little perspective and dare I say it patience.
