I presume that our interest in ESR is dead as he appears to be close to signing a new deal with Arsenal, however given Arsenal are interested is signing potentially 2 attacking midfielders in Aouar and Maddison I can't understand why he is so keen to sign even if they sign one his game time will be seriously curtailed if they sign both then he will get next to no game time at all. Given he would be a regular starter for us I just don't get it, whilst he might be similar to Jack in that he's Arsenal through and through that only works if you are playing and potentially he won't be.

It will be interesting I can’t see either Maddison or Aouar coming to warm the bench, that is if either is coming of course.

Can't see them getting either of those players John. Few years ago maybe but Arsenal simply don't have the money (without funding deals over 5 years, like Pepe) to sign these players. ESR will get plenty of game time I'm sure, and fair play to him, very good player and his agent played a blinder if his 100K a week wages are true.
