Scot, fancy posting now we've won mate?
The 4-4-2 worked towards the end but it was partially down to Fulham retreating. We would concede too much ground playing it from the start.
What today showed is without Jack we should go with Davis central and Watkins with Traore/ El Ghazi either side. Davis brings a level of control we miss without Jack and the finishers are either side if him. Today also reiterated why Mcginn shouldn't play deep.
People jumped on the moaning bandwagon again. Yes, we weren't creative enough but other than Mings being too laid back again we never really looked like conceding. The stats about SOT were misleading when most of their "chances" were blind passes to the goalkeeper or otherwise hopefully efforts at best.

Rk, you need to understand people are allowed to moan and complain, its what life is all about mate.
No way can you defend the first hour of that, as what you would like to watch for the rest of the season.
If it is, fine you carry on, it was a welcome 3 points yes of course.

Dave, you need to understand that an opinion is only valid if you're willing to comment under any circumstance. You've only really come back to comment on this and while I respect you far more than some on here it's disappointing you choose this time to make a point.
We can't play good football every minute if every match. I've already commented that we weren't creative enough but we never looked like conceding until the mistake.
I absolutely can defend what we did as we stayed in the game rather than going gung ho like we did last season to the point we were out of the game before we were in it.

Agree 100% villa Dave

You telling me that all the posters on here banging on about we were comfortable for the first hour, never looked like conceding etc etc would be saying the same thing if they were at villa park watching it leave having forked out hard earned money for the pleasure. not achance.

Davis’s presence transformed the game, the assist he provided for Trez’s second goal will have done his confidence a world of good.
On that showing, 25 minutes by the way it’s usually just 10, he deserves to start in the next game, whether it be in the usual 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-2.
If he can steer clear of injuries I think there’s a hell of a player in him and he might just save the club a fortune.
We were robbed of a penalty in the first half but it was probably a blessing in disguise because had it been 1-0 to us with 25 minutes left I doubt we would have seen the changes that proved to be inspirational.
TOV you were quoting Shakespeare in the first half, describing the performance as ‘ a comedy of errors’, well
‘ Alls well that ends well’, mate. 😁👍.

rk everyone is entitled to an opinion that’s the benefit of living in a democracy you can express it . You might not like the opinion but Dave is perfectly entitled to his view. In terms of today’s game great result poor overall performance and whilst I agree with you that we can’t play good football every minute there have been far too many minutes over the last half dozen games or so where we haven’t and I have to say that for 70 minutes today I thought we performed more like a Steve Bruce side than a Dean Smith one. However the positives today were the result, Smith making substitutions early enough for them to have an impact the fact he played two up top, and the performances of Trez and Davis. Onwards and upwards.

Can I also refer back to my original post, can those who only post when we're losing please post now we have won?
I've openly pointed out on all occasions things we have done well and others we could do better but I'm yet to see one of the overly negative posters say a single thing when we've grabbed the 3 points.
Scot, now is the perfect time to be considered a reasoned poster. Hold your hands up that we found a way to win but also reasonably suggest a way to do it better.

Rk, you have suggested in your post timed 19:27 that I have only come back to comment on this, what do you mean mate.
I post several times most days on here, so I don`t understand your point.
I post on most topics mate, irrespective of a win or loss, so you have lost me.

Flippin eck yes it was boring for 70 minutes but the changes were made and we came alive kudos to the management and a big shout for mings who stepped right up and did everything to make up for his error i am very pleased with the character shown when it all looked dead and lost i will watch that every week if we can put games to bed like that. Also a nod to trez who does nothing and then turns up at the most important of moments what a guy 😂UTV.

You disappeared for ages. I've left the trolls myself to do what they please as I also became disillusioned with the crap on here when I've had more important things to attend to.
We've regularly disagreed with the severity of the issues but we always specify where we're coming from unlike those whom I have been calling out.
My point us that considering your relative radio silence it was disappointing that you called me out for a fairly balanced point of view to defend people who yet again won't say a word once the 3 points are in the bag.
I am willing on a win to say we weren't brilliant, they aren't willing to say anything other than bad things only when we lose.
Am I a bad person to ask people who claim to be supporters to comment reasonably on all outcomes? Like I said, now is the perfect chance to congratulate the result but offer constructive criticism but as usual they can't do it.

Overall great 3 points in the end. stepped up when could of just folded after going 1 down to such a sloppy goal, but impressed with how we changed shape and showed character. mings showing great character after his error. so pleased for Davis also and the impact he had, spec after some of the (IMO) unfair pelters he gets 🙌🏻😆 UTV!

What has happened to the friendly banter that we used to have?
If you don't agree just say so.
Biggest problem with all social media is that people hide behind the fact that no one can see them, they are anonymous.
Most of the comments that cause offence would not be done to the victims face for fear of a quick slap
Posters have left this site because of aggressive replies, comments.
Shame on the cowards who hide behind their chosen fictitious name.
Fortunately I am not a victim but nevertheless I am off.
Goodbye to the real genuine posters.

I hope that doesn’t mean you won’t be available for the grudge match against those Leeds boys TOV.
We’re going to need our arse kicking captain at the back 😂.
Stay safe mate, hope you come back to the fold soon, as Dave said, you’re input will be missed. 👍🍻.

TOV I agree with you I stopped posting for a while because of the response I received to a post I made which interestingly enough was from one of the Ed’s rather than a regular poster and as a consequence I have avoided commenting for a while, however I am going to follow the advice of southernvillain and be selective over what I respond to, it would be a shame to stop posting altogether we would miss your input and the comments re Mrs TOV and her fondness for the Albion😀.

Your opinions will be missed TOV, right or wrong they're YOUR opinions and deserve to be discussed in an appropriate manner as do any others who post on here. It's not a game of one-upmanship but a place to air our views and discuss there merits or lack thereof in a civilised fashion.
I feel like doing a Dead Poets Society and standing on my chair shouting 'Oh Captain, my Captain " if you've seen the film you'll get the gist.
Keep safe, you and your family 👍.
