It's amazing how long this Traore deal is taking to get finalised, obviously because of a Visa, been nearly a week now, yet Liverpool are able to announce Thiago more or less straight away. Ditto Regulon for Spurs will be concluded rapidly. Probably different rules for different clubs though I'm sure it'll all be down to where Traore was born even though he's been playing in France for years.

Unfortunately he doesn’t have French nationality Moose, he’s Burkinabe. The other players you mentioned have Spanish nationality and therefore don’t currently need work permits as the freedom of movement rules for European citizens will apply until at least the end of the year.
I’m sure I will be corrected by the Ed’s if that is incorrect.

Thiago is Italian but it’s the fact they’re European that matters.

{Ed001's Note - Spanish.}

You’re right Ed, he was born in Italy though I believe, cheers.

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, to a Brazilian footballer dad who moved to play for Elche while Thiago was young.}

Thought it was that, was just getting a bit frustrated and wanted a bit of a rant 😁.

The other point worth mentioning about the Traoré transfer is that he will have to undergo 14 days of quarantine.
This basically means he’ll be unable to play the first 2 PREM games against Sheffield Utd and Fulham, I think.

That's a bit of a bind if true Mark, yet again the rules are extremely confusing 😳.

Unless he was allowed into the country before the work permit is sorted, but the rule is 14 days quarantine starting from the 1st day you arrive in the UK.

{Ed001's Note - isn't it different for footballers due to the bubble they are supposed to be in and the frequent testing?}

Thiago is Mazinho’s son. fair to say he’s reached a higher level. The issue with Traore is his work permit. And there is no issue, he’s got 54 caps or something at 25. But there’s a delay to processing due to the virus. Sure it’ll be sorted tonight / tomorrow. Just not sure if he can then be included vs Sheff Utd?

{Ed001's Note - international clearance usually takes 48 hours.}

Fair comment Ed001,the waters are very muddied surrounding who and when they have to quarantine. I would of thought though that with the regular testing footballers have to go through they may be exempt ie no sign of this with Bale and Thiago.

{Ed001's Note - if they had to quarantine, European football would be impossible.}

I saw somewhere on a main news site that quarantine applies to footballers as well but hopefully I will be proved wrong.

{Ed001's Note - it does if they test positive or someone within their bubble does so.}

I've always thought footballers lived in their own bubble anyway 😂😂😂.
