Alright lads united fan here.

You must of seen reports that Grealish to MU is a done deal (I highly doubt that is the case)

Just thought I’d ask your opinion on him. I like him but I don’t see him half as much as you lot.

He’s a quality midfielder who should not only be in the England squad but the team itself his ability to glide past people and manipulate the ball is second to none I may be biased but he is right up there amongst the best midfielders in the country and I believe he will thrive with better players around him. My query as far as Utd are concerned is where do you play him now you have Fernandes and Pogba operating in central midfield whilst Jack can play wide left I don’t believe he is nearly as effective there as he is in the middle and I don’t believe he will want to operate as a squad player Nor will Utd particularly given the asking price will be £70 to 80 million.

Hi Dave, this is my honest opinion, many will disagree with me.
He is very good when he is at the races, that unfortunately is not always the case with our Jack.
For me he spends too much time on the ball, rather than doing something with it, and is always looking for that extra pass.
I would like to see more attempts at goal from him, he fails to see a strike opportunity, because he is looking at his feet all the time.

We do love him down here, after all he is a Villa lad, through and through, and most think he is a great player, like I say he is very good when on his game.

Having said all that, I would sell him in the blink of an eye.

Dave I do get what you mean particularly the bit about always looking at his feet but I think he often tries to do too much because he has little faith in what is in and around him which is why I think he will develop more quickly in a side with better players in it sadly that won’t be with us but if we get £70 to £80 million I am with you I would definitely sell.

John, I don`t disagree mate, I am sure he will improve in a better side, but who knows it could work the other way, he might even look very ordinary with better players around him.

That`s how I see Grealish, I always have done, yes he is a good player, and yes he can glide past players, but for me he lacks several qualities that would make him a great player.

best player we have had since Cowans would walk in any top 6 side, with better players will get better, no midfielder like him, glides past players.

villajk, you are making statements that are unfounded mate, how do you know he would walk into any top 6 side, and that there is no other midfielder like him.
I have been answering a question, for another fan, and I have told him what I honestly think of Grealish.

Villajohn while I think Jack is a quality player I don’t think he would be an automatic starter at Man City, Liverpool, or for that matter Chelsea as each of those sides have quality creative players in the “Jack” role. I would also question whether he is our best player since Sid I think Mc Garth fits that bill in fact I could even argue the best player in my lifetime.

Dave, without sounding too patronising I respect much of what you say, fair honest reasonable, however where Jack is concerned I think you have a problem, my guess is you expect far more of him than is fair based on what he had around him. To the man u fan, yes he is an unknown quantity at the top level, however look at what he can do in a very poor side. Last season we would not have been promoted without him, he is an exceptional talent who holds the ball up better than most in the premier league. If he joins you at man u I don't think you will be disappointed.

Scotty, you are correct mate, yes I do have a problem with Jack.
I don`t expect any more from him, he does a lot for the team.
But there are a couple of things I expect different from Jack, one is that he releases the ball sooner, he holds it too long at times and any gaps have closed, its that extra pass he is looking for.
And the other, is that he should have more attempts at goal, when gaps appear, and they do appear, no question.
I don`t think that is expecting far too much of him, both of those qualities would surely improve him as a player.

I think Jack trying to put himself in that bracket of players leads him to trying too hard to find the 'perfect' option even when it's not on. His shooting also suffers from similar issues when he tries so hard to find the corner that there's no pace on the shot.
Obviously it helps when teammates actually make those runs but sometimes you have to speculate to accumulate. Eventually teammates will know where you want to play it.
Jack's biggest strength is playing in tight gaps, winning set pieces and dragging the team forward.

You're joking, lads. Man Utd-fan, I advise you lot to stay far away from Grealish, as he would only serve to be a flop for your club, it's a real honest opinion. Most Aston Villa-fans here are. I would say the most deluded ones, and I feel they do are like that with intent.

Why would Manchester United sign Grealish in the first place anyways? He isn't like Ronaldo or Messi.
Man Utd are playing a psychological game here. It's all a hoax, of course.

No "big" club would want to sign Grealish, get real.

He is an exceptionally gifted player and I’m sure he will only get better, for example Dave has highlighted some of things he could improve on . With better coaching and equally gifted players around him, I have no doubt he will become the finished article.
He’s already knocking on the door of the England team and will I’m sure be a regular in the National side before very long.
80 million is a lot of money but it wouldn’t surprise me if his suitors, whoever they may be, end up having a player worth we’ll in excess of that within a few years time.

His natural talent is incredible, his thinking of the game imo is poor, I’ve made this point many times he’s the spoilt kid in the playground and everything has to go through him. No self control off the field. Comes back to grab the ball off defenders to much so can try and take the whole team on. Doesn’t shoot enough. Head drops easy.

Hnchmch185, calling people on here deluded, is a bit off the mark mate, and shows signs of being fatuous, I will explain.
Deluded means believing something that is not true, correct.
its like believing in Pegasus, when we all know it not true, get my drift.
You are making a statement that a big club would not want Grealish, and to be honest you ain`t got a clue, have you.
Our thoughts on Grealish are peoples opinions mate, not facts.

Everyone will have an opinion on jack, mine is that he won’t perform at his best until surrounded by players on his level. At the minute he has C level players around him at best, you put Bruno Fernandes, Martial, Pogba, players from that ilk around him and he will flourish. Not many players in world football can perform at their very best ability without having similar around them. No one is saying he’s on the level of messi and Ronaldo. But look at someone like Modric at spurs then modric at Madrid, completely different players, he showed glimpses at spurs but performed at that level consistently when he was put in a team that emulated his ability.

That’s the questions for Villa, either put players of his ability around him, or sell and try to get 5 or six players not as good as Grealish but a step above what we have at the minute. Unfortunately I think it will be the latter, no one should want to see us selling our best players imo, it’s been our downfall for years.

I have not undergone a sex change chris, honest.
I am agreeing with you again, what's going on mate.
The selling bit I have to go the other way mate, I would sell, simply because we are not going to get the quality around him at Villa Park just yet.

Unfortunately I think your right re getting players of his quality in, we’ll be lucky to stay up let alone sign decent players in the summer👎.

Villadave,

I apologise I haven’t given a response to the above comments as my heads been a mess as I’ve just been given the date of my 7 yr olds heart operation which is happening this month, not something I’d share but as you felt the need to create a post on the MU page I thought I needed to explain!

Thanks to all who took time to reply to the above post. It seems jack Grealish is well thought of but also seems some wouldn’t miss him either.

What I’ve seen of him which is little compared to you lads, I like him I think he would thrive at MU he has that arrogance, I also noticed you say he’s not at his best when out wide left but I think left of a central 3 he would be great. With no disrespect to Villa (as I like your team) he’d feel less pressure at MU.

Really appreciate your responses good luck against Liverpool 👍🏻.
