Just reading that 'apparently' we are looking at Maddison in the summer. Take it from me as I know some people connected to him, he HATES Villa, and if that's not reason enough then him seemingly being crocked for half a season most seasons is a reason for it being a big no from me

For some reason and I’m not sure why quite a few Coventry players dislike us remember Callum Wilson? as I say I’m not sure why but it is what it is. I can believe we are looking at Maddison though, as he would be significantly cheaper than Asensio when you take wages etc into account but I know which of the two I’d rather have and it ain’t Maddison

It’s going to be the art of the deal that gets us Asensio. I’m under no illusion that Rashford will be at Villa next year, he’s put himself in the shop window, he’s performing well, the price is £40M, that will have so called bigger clubs here and abroad going for him. If Watkins goes to Arsenal for big money and we get David on a free then there’s a big chunk of money made. On the banter page Daz alluded to us having a substantially bigger shirt sponsor. Some fringe players will leave. Some surprise players will leave. I’m hoping too that common sense will prevail and something will be done about the terms of FFP/PSR as it is scandalous how stacked in favour of ‘certain clubs’ it affects us and even more so clubs like Newcastle, the only real competition it seems to me is who can get the best players cheap and flog them on, like Brighton excel at (used to be Southampton) just to keep above the stupid financial rules. Back to Asensio, kind of reminds me of when we got McGrath, he was on 10x the money the rest of the team, that didn’t upset the apple cart, just hope that todays squad would have the same attitude
