Latest rumour on the mill is that we have enquired about Espanyol striker Raul de Tomas to add to the front line. Anyone know anything about him?

He's a really decent striker, and he would score enough goals for Aston Villa. According to wikipedia, he's scored 124 goals in 297 matches for club teams, and 6 goals in 20 matches for his national teams so far.

I think we were interested in de Tomas and made an enquiry early in the window but this is an old story being regurgitated. I can’t believe we would decide to keep Archer and sign a decent front man it doesn’t make sense.I fear this is another example of lazy journalism.

Agree - If we see a player arrive in attacking positions If imagine it'll be a wide player, can't see a striker coming in! I'm putting all my eggs in the No. 8 basket ?

Phew. I’m relieved that everyone thinks we have a Champions League level strike force and nothing to worry about on the goals front. I’m not sure that I wholeheartedly share that optimism ?

It's almost like nobody we can actually buy is better than what we have.
Ollie may have lost a bit of confidence and takes touches when instinctive finishing was his strong point but he's still one of the top scorers from open play.

I think Gerrard doesn’t see anyone who is available better than what we have, he also wants to give Ings/Watkins another chance. The encouraging thing is that the coaching team must have faith that Archer can cut it at premiership level or else we would have targeted another striker and it’s good we are giving youth a chance.

By the way has anyone seen the details of Chukwuemeka’s contract? I’d love to know whether he got his £100 k a week.

If he did, I imagine a few of Chelski’s more experienced grown-ups would be kicking off ?
