He may go, but the owners have proven throughout their time here, they know what their doing, losing Grealish is monumental for Villa, but the people you’d trust to keep progressing us in his leaving, their already in place and doing a mighty fine job.

Personally, I think he’ll stay atleast another season. He had a brilliant season just gone but also missed a chunk with injury, Man City although have a bigger squad, they also have a much more congested fixture list. Plus they’ve never spent more then 60/ 65 million on a player, going to cost them double that for Grealish, with it all upfront. I think they’ll try, realise our owners aren’t going to be bullied, and go back in for Kane.

Has anyone seen how much they have to pay for causing uproar. 20 million between them to the lower leagues. That is a god damn joke bare in mind we are talking of City spending over 200 million on 2 players. Agent leaks City in for him, Villa start new contract negotiations, new improved contract signed, Agent gets a cut, Grealish stays at the club he loves, 2 fingers stuck up to our rivals that you CAN'T just buy who you want =everyone's a winner. Worked for years with the likes of Messi and Ramos. Just the usual contract/ money chicanery that goes on in the world of football. Nothing to see here, please move along.

I think it’s win win for us, we either keep him or we get a ridiculous amount of cash for him, owners won’t sell him for 100 million more like 140-150 we hold the aces, player has a long contract and we don’t need the money this year, if we do sell we know our owners are not afraid to invest so we are sitting pretty imo.

Whilst I like Jack, I agree with you Whack, I think it is win win for us. If Jack stays with us that’s great, however if he wants to go, we say to City we want Harrison plus £80 million and whilst City supposedly have agreed to sell Harrison to Leeds, if they want Jack then that’s the deal take it or leave it. The £80 million we get we then invest in the likes of JWP, Berge, and Abraham in that way the squad is a lot stronger than what we have currently which has to be good for the future of the club

At the risk of upsetting at least one of the Ed’s again, how realistic from an ffp perspective is it for City to sign both Grealish and Kane? Ands that’s a genuine question I confess I don’t know.

It would be sad to see Jack go but I do agree with Wack and John. I think the lad is craving to play at an higher level in European and world competitions and If he leaves I would say good luck to him and thank you for your years of service at Villa Park.

Think I’ve probably already said this many times before, don’t underestimate how Villa mad Jacks family are and the influence they will have, I don’t think he’ll leave for that reason alone, I’m sure he’ll get a new deal and a pay rise and I don’t begrudge him that, he’s in the England squad, through gritted teeth every England fan knows he’s probably the biggest player/ superstar of the group, not saying that through Villa tinted glasses either, if we get the players we’ve been linked with (JWP etc) then we’ve got as good a chance as any of getting top 4, winning domestic cups, he’d want to be a part of that, I’m sure some would disagree but he’s in touching distance of being known as the GOAT at Villa, the fella hasn’t even peaked yet

I have just read a fascinating article about how Wes Eden rewards loyalty in his star Baskerball player Milwaukee Bucks player Giannis Antetokounmpo in the states and keeps the opposition vultures away from him.
This is a similar situation to Jack’s position at Villa and I would recommend you all have a look at it.

Posted about Eden’s and the Bucks half way through the season Aka, when some were telling us how our down turn in form will annoy the owners and Grealish will be off, the managers getting sacked next week and Gerrards the new boss etc etc. It’s amazing how little research people still do when as you’ve highlighted, there’s so much info out there these days.

You can bet Jonathan Barnett is going to prosper out of Grealish-gate, whatever eventually happens.

There seems to be two key factors here:

1. Grealish’s own wishes
2. Financial recompense that meets Sawiris/ Edens’ demand.

The difficulty could lie with the latter, as even City will have a budget to work to and moving on expensive/ highly paid players to accommodate JG will not be easy.
