Weirder have now finally come out and stated Villa have now been in touch over Rashica hopefully these means things are in place to get the deal done.

Villainrob, I would love him to come to VP, however it’s looking increasingly likely that he ain’t coming. However interesting the money we would have to pay for him is the same amount that apparently CP are going to pay for benhrama.

Ed: any updates on this one?

{Ed002's Note - I suspect he is waiting to see what other options exist.}

Reliable and prudent journalists have commented that this one will happen. I think we’ve gone for Rashica to play left, Traore right, Watkins through the middle. Although all 3 are versatile and can play across the forward line. Rashica is a better player than Benrahma imo. and tried and tested at a higher level. The crucial factor seems to be pace. we’re clearly targeting explosive pace from the wings, which will massively improve our counter-attack options. I think both will arrive, and if we can get an economically sensible striker (Edouard, Brewster) I think we will do, and move Samatta on. All indications that Jack will play centrally at 8 or 10.

Hodgson’s recent comments seem to suggest he has had to restate Zaha is available to would be suitors. I may be reading it wrong, but Eze and Benrahma have been planned a replacements, but the main man is now unable to find takers.

Brentford hard-faced dealings with us May well have put Smith and Lange off further dealings. I think a Benrahma deal is off the cards, unless other arrangements go belly up.

If Rashica does join Traore through the ‘in door‘, we will have six wingers - if we exclude Grealish. Vassilev is a youngster and Trezeguet is worth perseverance, but surely Jota and El Ghazi look to have been pushed out of first team activities. Exits for both would make sense with another few.

Ant, personally I feel the Rashica deal is in the balance and he is holding back on committing himself at this stage.
If that is the case I can’t see DS and Lange waiting too long before they go elsewhere.

Rashica apparently said he's waiting for a better option? Is that the sort of player we want at the club?

Despite all the positive recent reports, I still feel the Rashica deal could well do a Sancho.

Would that then rekindle the King option? Spurs now appear more interested in Sorloth, whilst Man Utd are hardly chasing the Bournemouth man down.

I’ve just read an article in the German press that states Rashica will play for WB on the weekend against HB. He is definitely holding out for a club in the CL.

I don’t think we will get him if I’m honest. Time to look elsewhere - bale lol 😬. I think go for behnrama or king . Rashica sling ya hook ya cretin 😂.

We should have moved on from Rashica weeks ago when it was clear he didn’t want to join us, we need to pursue Benrahma if the price is £20 not £30 million the understanding he has with Watkins would be a real plus let Rashica stew in the Bundesliga.

There’s a suggestion on Twitter that the Rashica position is likely to become clearer after a meeting on tomorrow (Wednesday) . Quite what the arrangements are, I couldn’t say.

VillaMole has indicated Rashica wants a sell on clause included in his contract terms, should a bigger club come sniffing and he want to go. Seems as though he sees it as his ‘get out jail’ card. At this stage, talks remain on going.

To be honest, I am not convinced there is any real commitment there. Despite the guy’s talent, if he would rather be elsewhere, does that really cut it with team mates and fans alike?

I know there is not much loyalty in football these days, but this is taking it too far for me. I would be working on the alternative options I think. Buendia, Benrahma and King (if he has put his MU hankering to bed) .

I don't think we will take benhrama. At the start of the season Brentford said they would sell one of the two. Not both. I doubt benhrama will go.
