And so the rumours begin, manager wise, Bruno lage-i hope not, but the name Eddie Howe is gathering pace, and the only other rumour I've heard is a young Gambian striker called Barrow, apparently plays in Italy for a seria a club? -and of course the loan deal we want for tammy abrahams.

Personally I thank deano for doing his job for 9 games of the season and thank lady luck for doing even more for us, but its time for a new manager sooner rather than later.

I would take Poch. Lage seems to be a dreadful idea, never managed in the premier league and couldn't cut it in Portugal despite having a decent win record (67%) . The Portuguese league is nowhere near as competitive so the idea of bringing him in baffles me so I doubt there's are credibility to it.
Stick with Smith or bring in Poch; don't really want anyone else. Spend well (excess of 150m if possible) on 5 players and we could challenge Europe with the right recruitment and keeping ahold of our best.

Deano should defensively keep his job, in his time in charge he has got us promoted to a cup final and kept us in the premier league if someone had told us that when he took over we would have snapped there hands off. We need to recruit well and target a mid table finish next season and good cup runs. For me it’s all about evolution not revolution.
If we are going to spend big money I am not sure how we can do so by keeping Jack and not fall foul of FFP.

I think the idea of FFP having real consequences has died. City have been overspending massively for the last 12 years, having spent over a billion on players since 2008. Recently reprimanded for lying about their revenue, and got away with a 10m fine.

The idea that FFP comes with real consequences for rich clubs, which we are now with the third richest owners, is laughable.
Owners want to take us to the top, we should be aiming above mid table, and selling our best players will not aid us in this goal.

This was Wes Edens when he bought the club. We posted less of a financial loss than Chelsea by quite a bit this past financial year and they're talking of spending over 100mil, I think we will be fine for finances.

Hi Alex, The bit you mention about selling our best players, I think we have too mate.
Grealish I mean, he needs to wake up a bit, he takes forever to get going, and by the time he does get going, everyone is back in position waiting for him.
He is so predictable its unreal, for a player with his so called ability, variation, trickery and vision should be part of his game, but its not.
He is a decent player yes, but that is where it ends for me.
I reckon sell him now while his value is still there.

I hope you are right and I have to confess I am not totally au fait with the ffp regulations but I think we are only allowed to spend about £ 5 million pounds more than the club earns over an assessment period which I think is of 3 years duration (if I am wrong I am sure the Ed will put me write) that being the case I am not sure how we can spend over £100 million let alone afford the wages however I stand to be corrected.

I must admit though ffp does worry me so many contradictory views I am not sure what the true position is. because if we get it wrong the implications are huge.

John, I think its best to just forget it mate, leave it to the guys who it affects, let them worry about it.
I think Purslow was on the board that formulated the whole thing anyway, so surely the water we are in is not that deep anyway.
It is what it is, we will have some idea about our position when we see the quality of the players we are bidding for.
Before lock down, the media were giving the impression that we were in compliance with all that was necessary, financially I mean.
The only reason its cropped up again, is because of the speculation surrounding our forthcoming dealings.

I don't think we have to, that's the mentality of a feeder club which we should strive not to be. If we sell our best players, most influential players, we struggle to replace them. Look at Benteke as the most recent example. We sold our top goal scorer to a bigger club because we needed the funds instead of building a team. What happened that season? We were relegated.

I think if we continue down the path of past seasons we are doomed. FFP is meaningless and I'm sure we will make decent purchases this year around the spine of the team that we now have after shedding some dead weight.

If we always sell our best players, we will never suprass mid table and that's the harsh truth. And mid table teams are more likely to be pulled into a relegation fight. Better to keep our best and use them as lures to other great players and build a team. If we strip it to the bare bones each year we will be relegated within the next 5.
