Just caught part of a conversation on Times Radio with the head of the Villa Jewish Supporters. I have to say the guy sounded pretty conflicted on the issue. On one hand he thought it wasn't right that Jews should effectively be banned from watching a game of football but on the other given that pro Palestinian groups that had announced the intention to protest, and Tommy Robinson also announcing an intention to protest he could understand the SAG decision to ban Maccabi fans.But you could tell the guy was in two minds.
He did make an interesting point about the trouble at the Hapoel v Maccabi game that was cancelled at the weekend stating that the trouble was initiated by the Hapoel fans and that the vast majority of arrests were from the Hapoel not the Maccabi side.

{Ed001's Note - it is not about banning Jews, that is an outright lie that is being spread.}

I don't understand how people are saying that people are being banned for being Jewish? Nobody has suggested Jewish Villa fans are not allowed to attend.
Peaceful fans will miss out but Maccabi have not banned violent fans from buying tickets and therefore this is the right decision.
Derbies in the UK can get out of hand sometimes but these issues are met with bans and potential prison sentences, the Maccabi fans seem to barely get a slap on the wrist.

{Ed001's Note - spot on.}

The whole problem here is a perfect example of why politicians should not involve themselves in sport, particularly when they are not to the best of my knowledge in possession of the reasons/rationale why that decision was made. Interestingly it seems to have gone quiet on this issue today or have I missed something?

{Ed001's Note - you are spot on mate. Politicians are just trying to create issues.}
