Joe Cole is on villas radar and a deal is said to be close. He is a free agent and wages no prob.
As long as he can stay fit this is a good signing, can pick a pass and beat a player
Congratulations kingy! the first 1 you have ever got right, wonders never cease! this is a quality signing in all regards, brings a wealth of experience at club and international level, is just the type of player we are crying out for with flair and creativity in abundance. This is good work by Lambert. Let's just hope he stays fit!
To be honest he is better than Wea Hoolahan and he has experience. If he can stay fit and N'Zogbia is brought into the team we could do alright.
The key to this one is if he can stay fit. Always seems to be injured but I still think its a step in the right direction in terms of adding experience and addressing the areas we need to strengthen and improve. There is obvious talent and class in cole and he's worth a go on a free. Fair play to lambert for doing a decent job in being able to add to the squad with such uncertainty hanging over us.
7/8 years ago this would have been a good signing, but he is so far past his best its not funny. He has averaged 15 appearances over the last 2 years. Before that he was very poor at Liverpool, playing with attacking players significantly better than our lot. West Ham are crying out for attacking players, and they don't even want to keep him! He might be better the Hoolahan, but that really isn't saying much.
Don't right him off could be signing of the season if he stays fit

One of the best english players of the last 20 years, so often played out of position in the past, why WH didn't want to keep him is a bit worrying but still think he can open some much needed doors for us, i'd take Cole over Hollahands any day!
Very well said. seen a few places that the reason he decided to join was because lambert said he would play CM. Good signing, remember everyone. Form is temporary, Class is permanent.
