A friend of mine said Steve Bruce has had no money to spend that's why we are stuck which made me laugh. At the start of the season Wyness said that we are going for experienced players which is fine but even Wyness will tell people at the start of the season Bruce had a choice he wanted experienced players rather than money to spend.

So here is how it works John Terry is on big money around 60k a week plus his signing on fee and agent fee that free signing has prob cost the club 10 million overall then we sign Glen Whelan 2 million again a experienced Premier League player on around 40k a week plus agent fee plus signing on them 2 players alone is prob 16 million. FFP also includes wages just because it says free or 2 million you have to include wages and signing on fee and agent fee these players have drop down but are still on good money.

there's nothing wrong with what Bruce has done but people shouldn't say we have had no money because even tho there ageing premier league players they have cost us a fortune that's without going into the rest he signed in the summer. He gambled in doing it this way let's hope it comes off. UTV.

Your maths is awful mate.

If you are going to get picky, So is your grammar chris. haha.
You should say, (your math`s are awful mate)

well not really it depends how much Terry and Glenn Whelans signing on fee was and agent fee and there wages point I was trying to make is Bruce has had loads of money and gave it old as beens for wages there not all free and cheap as they make out.

I didn’t even realise Dave, cheers lmao🙈 I’m guessing “your math is awful” would of been correct? And WTW Bruce has had money your right, but the math you backed it up with doesn’t add up, unless your saying between them Terry and Whelan got 9million pound in signing on fees and agents fees. I wouldn’t be entirely sure Terry was on 60k and Whelan definitely isn’t on 40k. But even with them figures you’ve stated and the 2 million we paid for Whelan (which is probably more 1.2) the costing the club 16million is miles off.

Terrys signing on fee wouldn't be far off about 5 million and his agent would get about 3 million most definitely even the crap players get two million signing on. My friends the wolves gk carl Ikeme and he got 2 million signing on and his no where near the scale of terry. Also football manager researchers who are very rarely wrong have done the wages they know more than us both even sky use there researchers. These players drop down from the Premier League for God's sake there not on peanuts.

Your welcome mate, only joking, and no malice meant.
Just love the banter.

Wtw-if you walked into a team left by di matteo, who was the most senior player there? i think brucey tried with what was already there and wasn't convinced, so he brought in senior players for structure and backbone, now lucky is the team whose players all gel at the same time;ours didn't, but there again neither did a lot of other teams, so yes, you could say he's bought in players on big sheckles who maybe don't seem value for money, but the season still has a few twists and turns to go, so lambast him as much as you like, just don't slaughter the boys out there until the season is done, their experience may just be the thing that gets us over the line in the end;and by the way, i still say i'd take John Stead on a short-term contract, he could be our super-sub;chris fairclough style!

Ed’s don’t suppose you know anything about signing on fees for a free transfer and typical agent fees? To me 5 mil signing on fee and agents getting 3 mil in a deal where there’s no transfer fee sounds like someone living on another planet guessing and guessing badly at that. Also Terry was on 50k a week at Chelsea in his last contract I’m sure of it, so surely dropping down a league he took a pay cut? And Whelan on 40k would be one of our best paid players? I remember Bruce saying last season when Gardner got his new contract that he was on considerably less than everyone else so the new deal put him in the same field as everyone else, so are they all on 40k? Surely we would have just failed ffp no matter how much the parachute payments were.

{Ed001's Note - every player is different mate. The agent gets a %age of the signing on fee usually when it is a free transfer. Though that can be a lot as the 'free' transfers usually end up costing as much as buying a player. Clubs will usually pay a higher wage to a player signed on a free. I would expect a 5mil signing fee to pay (usually) 20% to the agent, around 1mil. Terry was receiving much more than 50k on his Chelsea deal, over double that IIRC.}

Cheers Ed. So terry would be getting 4million with his agent taking a mil, if his on 50k for the year that’s 2.6mil, Whelan taking 2 mil in transfer and 40k a week that’s 2.08mil. Overall their costing us 11.68mil for the year. So still quite short of the original 16million, WTW your right but Bruce has no excuse on the money front, managers have got teams promoted on much smaller budgets, however your maths is still a 5/ 10 and will be reviewed next term😉😂.

I wasnt slatting anybody just saying his spent loads.

08 Jan 2018 20:27:40
I don't think I am that far off Chris at least give me a C plus? If we add everything up tho with all Bruces signings I bet its about 25 million.

08 Jan 2018 20:53:58
Ok you can take a C😂 yea hogan was close to 15, he did well with Hourihane and Lansbury but all together he must have spent 25-30.
