Apparently we're appointing a chappie who is an expert at football recruitment, seeing as the boys have gone to chez fritzl country. i'm going to make a mad guess that most of our targets are from prem teams or top teams abroad, so i'd say they're still on their holidays, so keep the faith.
i reckon the next 3 weeks are going to get busy for whoever signs the cheques at villa park, if not, and we buy more 'potential' players then its fair to say rdm has his hands tied and maybe its another bucks fizz (land of make believe for those old enough to remember! ), and we'll have to suppose he's another randy lerner in disguise, but benefit of the doubt, let the dice roll on lady luck.

Rdm knows xia is after a director of football and he agreed to it before he took over a lot of rumours going around let's give them time why just throw money about for the fun of it we will be fine when the season starts its a marathon not a sprint.

Don't have a clue what your on about or where you get your conclusions from, so if we get a director of football then sign tshibola and gollini you know the two young/ potential players were already linked with off the backs of Clarke and Di Matteo that means they have their hands tied and we've got another Randy Lerner? its you who comes on here and talks bollox you ain't giving the new chairman a chance all you are expecting him to chuck money all over the place get in real world i think if you look at great britain at moment its in a mess we will get money spent when we find the right players 5 mil on a reading player 3 mil on elphick 4 mil on a keeper not bad for starters what you want xia to chuck 100 mil on pogba never going to happen we will be fine when season starts get a grip lad and calm down.

Its barmy army talk! I agree with you Renn let's give the new guy a chance, we can't expect £50million to be spent in a flash either it just isn't possible when you factor in aLl the elements that make a signing happen. By the looks of things by early next week we will have signed 3 very good players ať a cost of around £13million so what's the problem how bad is that?! We will most likely sign 2or 3 more for similar figures in the next few weeks totalling around £30 to £40million bottom so let's celebrate and look forward not be negative and spoilt like Children! Bear in mind we still need to get rid of the rubbish which is going yo be hard afterall they sent us down!

classof82 you are either very confused or a bluenose I can't tell and who isn't giving the chairman a chance, when I said about talking waffle I was on about classof82 and trying to point out how having a director of football means nothing in the modern gam. And now answer me this classof82 we've just signed the young promosing "potential" goal keeper as you called it but we haven't yet got announced a director of football so does this mean Matteo and Clarke chose this player and you was wrong? I think so.

Hello there chrisAVFC apologies if i was not transparent in what i said, perhaps i should have been clearer, in the post i talked of an expert 'recruiter', by this i meant a fella who actually will do the negotiations and then report to a 'Director of Football who then confers with rdm etc before hopefully sanctioning the deals, i don't think i said director of football but maybe the wrong inference was used, hands up i'm probably guilty, as for the goalie signing, the press reports say he may have used existing contacts to get the deal on track.
now this is the press reporting so you can make your own mind up, so fair play about what i said, its good to see this site is class, keeping us on our toes and bubbling away with anticipation and hopefully news of more good signings, oh yeah, one more thing, i haven't got a clue about who the director of football is, or is going to be, but fingers crossed they'll have more street smarts than the previous incumbent, onwards and upwards.
