Lambert has apparently set his sights on Omar Abdulrahman, would be a real shock if he pulls this move off!

Believable9 Unbelievable5

Looks absolute class skills like ronaldinho leighton vtid

Agree6 Disagree6

His not ready for the prem belhanda is mush better

Agree7 Disagree3

Get both to replace ireland and bannan

Agree4 Disagree2

I can't think of a more unlikely type of player PL would try to sign.

Agree2 Disagree3

I agree lambert would not want abdulrahman very good with ball but would NOT keep up with pace and physicality of prem no way.

according to a French radio station, Belhanda has 'chosen' Villa, whether that means he has chosen them as the last place he would ever sign, or where he wants to play next season is yet unknown, VTID UTV

Believable7 Unbelievable5

Matt Kendrick from the Birmingham Mail has stated from his 'reliable' sources that the Belhanda deal will not be happening and the positive noises are all coming from France and not Aston Villa

Agree3 Disagree4

Yes but Villa have announced they have bid for the player, so shows how much "Mr Villa" knows.

Agree5 Disagree2

Yeah because Matt Kendrick knows every thing. jafooley!

Agree3 Disagree1

Despite Paul Faulkner being in Morocco talking to Belhanda? Strange that isn't it!

Agree6 Disagree1

Where have Villa announced they have made a bid?

And Faulkner is in Morocco? Is this the same Faulkner who was in London yesterday getting re-elected to the FA Council?!

Guys we can't just make statements on the back of what we want! I want Belhanda as much as everyone else and was just reporting what MK had said

Andy Carroll plus 5 m for benteke

Believable2 Unbelievable12

Lolz - 10-15m and Carroll from another mid table team and maybe Villa would accept.5m is chicken feed, you pay him that in wages every season.

As to whether he would want to play for Liverpool - I doubt it. If he did he would prove himself a mercenary and leave next summer for someone else's outcast plus 5m no doubt

Agree10 Disagree1

Andy carroll plus 5m for Bent!

Belhanda still interested in signing for Villa, however cost will probably step in the way, and if bigger clubs come in doubtful we will be first choice. Would be a great signing as well as Aleksandar Tonev. Europa League next lads UTV

Believable7 Unbelievable6

He has apparently chose us!!! over all the others. so happy if true

Agree7 Disagree3

RMC Sport (which is the French equivalent of a web site has announced that Aston Villa are Belhanda's choice club & will begin talks next week! Buzzing!

Agree5 Disagree2

If we get belhanda, cresswell and either zouma or okore we will have a strong team for mext season now that deplh, westwood and sylla have got some premier league experience this should be the line up
-------------------Guzan------------------

Lowton--Zouma/Okore--vlaar--cresswel

-----------delph---------sylla-------------

---------------belhanda-------------------

Weimann------benteke------agbonlahor-

Agree9 Disagree5

Agreed but we have to stop dreaming about zouma because it won't happen unfortunately

Agree10 Disagree1

You'd play sylla an delph ahead of Westwood??

LMAO

Agree13 Disagree0

I'm I the only one thinking Westwood is a guarented starter over Delph or sylla

Agree11 Disagree1

Westwood for me is the best ball player we've got and should be one of the first names on the team sheet. Definate first choice midfielder and possible captain of the future.

Agree11 Disagree1

Delph is the definite starter out of the 3. non stop engine, doesn't shirk a challenge, runs positively with the ball, great left foot and pretty quick. future AVFC captain for sure. a legend

Agree4 Disagree5

Westwood should play without a doubt

Agree11 Disagree0

I think ot should be Delph and Westwood. Sylla isn't constant enough to play week-in week-out.

Agree5 Disagree3

Yep delph and westwood. sylla is great cover though

Agree3 Disagree0

Gardner?

Agree10 Disagree4

Gardner will get game time I am sure. But if we continue to prosper at this rate - we'll be CL contenders in 2 or 3 years!!

Agree0 Disagree2

CL contenders? We seem to be heading in the right direction, but going from relegation survivors to competing for 4th in a few years is a long shot. Especially with the spending power of the current top 6.

Sources in Denmark suggest that Aston Villa have had a £3million offer rejected for Ivorian-born defender Jores Okore, who plays for Nordsjaelland in his adopted country.

Aston Villa midfielder Barry Bannan is emerging as a loan target for Championship side Leicester City, despite breaking back into the first-team at the end of last season

And Villa have slapped a 40m price tag on Benteke to attempt to fend off bidders wanting to snap Benteke up on the cheap

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Not sure about Okore bid although it is in danish papers. However all is true in that post except leicster city I don't know that for sure but a prem or championship loan is what Bazza needs

How true is the ireland going to stoke deal? I hope 101%

Believable10 Unbelievable3

Paul Lamberts top transfer targets for 2013/14 season are:
Younes Belhanda - creative playmaker to assist Benteke
Jores Okore - Rock solid at the back to play with Vlaar
Aaron Cresswell - To replace the shakey Bennett. Very similar to Lowton.
Aleksandar Tonev - young and creative highly rated by petrov

Believable15 Unbelievable0

"The French side have slapped a £12million price tag on the midfielder who has told Villa he is ready to snub Inter Milan, AC Milan, Atletico Madrid and Galatasaray to sign for them. "
Seems Belhanda is looking more likely with every passing day!

Agree9 Disagree2

I heard we are looking at bringing in Danny Rose instead of Cresswell, but Cresswell would be a good addition & would push Bennett.

Agree5 Disagree3

Thanks for a very insightful post.

Agree4 Disagree1

Nice list, it would be exciting to start 13/14 with these players, personally I would like to see Murphy & Cornelius rather than Belhanda at AVFC.

Agree3 Disagree6

Danny rose would be a great signing. (i know people will disagree) but i'm not sure left back is as much of a priority as we think. we got bennett who I don't think is that bad and will get better also we have young stevens who was ok til he got injured and although they're cb's clark and baker can both slot in at lb to an acceptable level if needed aswell.

Agree4 Disagree4

I would not want danny rose playing for Villa

Agree7 Disagree6

I disagree, the leftback position is very important. As we don't play with any wingers, our full backs are the only source of width for us. So a good left back in the mould of lowton, would give us good balance. Also a strong centre back is needed as we leaked way to many goals.

Agree7 Disagree0

Agree with baker filling in at cb but for you to put that Bennett ain't that bad is laughable it really is! He stuck out like an inept sore thumb that put loads of pressure on Clark and vllar.
If you want confirmation of this then watch us against man u from the kick off and you will see what the rest of the league see's!

Agree4 Disagree0

I don't agree with the statement that Baker and Clark can play LB to an acceptable level and feel a new LB is as much a priority as a new CB. Not necessarily to come in and kill Bennets chances but to enhance his game. Cresswell and Bennett vying for that 'Number 3 Shirt' can only be good for us.

Unfortunately Enda Stevens just isn't good enough for this level.

Agree5 Disagree1

Why not mate?surely all villa fans want a better squad and rose would be our no. 1 left back if signed.

Agree2 Disagree2

Benteke won't be there by all accounts so I wouldn't start planning who will be playing with him just yet!

Agree1 Disagree8

If you look at where teams attack most against a Villa side, its all on the left as their wingers target Bennett which pushes Sylla back to help Bennett.

Agree5 Disagree1

What happened to the Luke Murphy Deal as well?

Agree2 Disagree1

Which team have you been watching? Sylla always plays on right side of the 3 central midfielders. Not sure how he gets pushed back to help Bennett from there?

Agree7 Disagree0

Delph should be pushed back but he's too busy missing sitters xD

Agree4 Disagree1

Dont diss delph please lol he will be our best player in a few years providing he stays injury free
