Benteke & Weimann are in the Villa kits for the new season - you'd expect that that means they'll be at Villa Park next season then!
Believable7
Unbelievable7
Villa want 40m for benteke he will be here for 1 more year at least
Agree9
Disagree2
With Villa putting a £40m price tag on Benteke, I don't think he will be going anywhere at all now.
Agree8
Disagree1
Benteke priced at 40 mil
Agree7
Disagree2
I doubt Benteke will be sold now. Even if we do pull off the signing of Belhanda, Villa bid for Coutinho & Dempsey in previous windows & that was in addition to Benteke, why would the same sort of player wanted to help Benteke be a replacement for him?
Agree5
Disagree1
Nope not necessarily, suarez was in the new liverpool kit and he's off!
Agree3
Disagree5
Would still rather keep benteke but if we get 40 mil for him we could get a very strong squad. so either way, we ain't getting relegated. will finish between 9th and 12th I reckon.
Agree4
Disagree1
Benteke has taken to twitter to say he wants to stay at Villa. So what I don't understand is why don't the press stop with the quotes which the player has dismissed as untrue?
Agree6
Disagree3
40 m is ridiculous more like 15-20 m be honest
Agree0
Disagree6
How is 40mil ridiculous when torres was 50 and carroll 35?benteke far far better than both. only thing ridiculous is the price tag too small if using the torres carroll scale
Agree5
Disagree0
Think your missing the point, It's a back away unless your going to pay stupid money quote.
Agree4
Disagree1
His only just 22 has a lot of playing time left that's why his worth 35-40m he will be the new drogba
Agree5
Disagree0
How much is benteke worth? Well if lukaku was bought a few seasons ago for £19 million, without scoring a single premiership goal. How much is Benteke worth? Benteke is in the Belgium starting line up, whereas lukaku is on the bench. How much is Benteke worth? I hope this puts it to rest all those who say Benteke is worth only £10 million, when in fact his worth a lot more.
Agree3

Teams can value their players at whatever they want. Look what spurs did to keep modric. Simple logic

Aston villa set to bid 10 million on Danish superstar Andreas Cornelius as Aston Villa are set to sell Darren Bent herd this from some close sources to Aston Villa
Believable6
Unbelievable8
I also herd this rumour from a reliable source but I heard it was only an 8 million bid
Agree6
Disagree5
No chance as Stoke and Everton are after him
Agree3
Disagree7
I have recently herd that Aston Villa are in poll position to sign him for a cheeky 7 million as Bent is on his way out
Agree5
Disagree4
And just were is Bent suppose to be going? Surely your 'close source' told you that?
Agree8
Disagree1
Who's the guy that put no chance?! Your telling me he would turn villa down for stoke loool because they play such attractive football don't they
Agree8
Disagree1
Why on earth would anyone rather go to stoke than villa?ridiculous lies get spread on this. I want to see some REAL stories please not a load of fake crap. been linked to about 20 players in last month and signed NONE. SORT IT OUT
Agree8
Disagree1
Villa are looking better than Stoke do & Everton will either totally sink or soar next season!
Cornelius is more Arsenal's sort of player, young, lots of talent & a small enough price tag.
Agree4
Disagree1
Berbatov wants out of fulham, bent will go there and take over berbatov's wages
Agree4
Disagree1
Yes this rumour looks very reliable as I have herd his name tossed around a few times aswell really hope so he looks really talented but I would rather just keep benteke
Agree3
Disagree1
I mentioned this on the banter page that he would be a great signing

Christian Benteke is set to sign an improved contract as Aston Villa have told him he will be sold after the world cup next year, villa know they carnt keep hold of him but the know that they can get top dollar for him in the world cup transfer window. Christian also feels that he owed a debt of gratitude to Paul Lambert and has stated he will stick around for one more season. The more speculation the higher his value will rise.
Believable6
Unbelievable5
As much as I'd love this to be true I don't believe it, far to much speculation about him leaving. how do you know this?
Agree3
Disagree2
Okore, belhanda and benteke for another season and i'd be over the moon!
Agree5
Disagree0
Says it all that you would rather believe that he is going due to speculation, instead of believing that he will stay at the club you support. He won't be sold this transfer window, and my source is not relevant only the information I am provided with.
Agree4
Disagree2
As I said, hope it's true!
Agree3
Disagree0
Why would he sign an improved contract, probably a 4/5 year deal, if he was going to leave the next season?
The club could just dig it's heels in and keep him there til his contract dwindles down to 2 years then sell him?
Agree3
Disagree1
He is on a tiny wage at the moment, rumoured to be around £25k-£30k p/w. If he is our star player he wants £60-70k p/w.
Agree3
Disagree0
Who are these mindless people who have nothing better to do than make up lies, Benteke will not sign a new contract he knows that the top 6 clubs are looking at him, as well as clubs in Europe, what has a better pull on him, the Saltley Gasworks, HP sauce the Bull ring Tipton Flyover, Birmingham has nothing to offer him
Agree1
Disagree4
Because not only will he be more likely to stay if we double his money but also all of the best young players this season are getting improves contracts. Lowton, westwood and weimann are the others I believe. Not to mention the fact that if he signs a contract other teams will no to keep off
Agree1
Disagree1
I think even if he will leave next summer he will still sign a new contract here. Why would you stay on 25k for 12 months when you can get 40/50k for the same period in time.
Unfortunatey loyalty in football is almost non existence these days and if Benteke stays this season and signs a new 4/5 year deal I still expect him to go next summer (if he has a season similar to this one) and I wouldn't be surprised if teams try and get is sorted before the world cup kicks off because if he performs in Brazil then his value will be even higher.
Agree2
Disagree0
Benteke will stay and the Hp sauce factory shut ages ago, now its made in the netherlands so why make a stupid pointless remark like that. Keep to football rumours.
Agree2
Disagree1
Villa will give Benteke a new deal, up his wages & he will leave next summer but they can just use the new contract of Benteke's as a bargaining chip to get another few million next summer!
Agree2
Disagree1
These mindless people that supposedly make up lies? How can a rumour be a lie its not the truth or a lie, nor is it a fact. IT IS A RUMOUR, hence the name of the website.
Maggots for Brains.
Agree2
Disagree1
The reasons Benteke would sign a contract extension are simple
> More money
> To put a reasonable fee release clause in his contract
> An agreement that the club will let him go to a CL club if they offer a good deal

Villa this morning are rumoured to be discussing a transfer for Jores Okore, of which there will be a rumoured £3m transfer fee.
Believable7
Unbelievable2
Finally! a solid centre back! Apparently the cost will be closer to £5m than £3m though. With the additions of Belhanda, Popov & Tonev looking likely - Villa look to be making strong additions for next season! Up the Villa!
Agree5
Disagree2
The fee was rejected apparently. But their is a mutual respect between both clubs ands they won't rush the sale with villa but it looks like a possible deal just a waiting game.
Agree6

Danish media are now reporting a fee in excess of 3m has been accepted

Do you think the Belhanda rumours are true Ed? I really hope so- would show Benteke and everyone our ambition {Ed001's Note - there has been interest from Villa and Newcastle throughout last season, so it would make sense if they were true. Villa had him watched multiple times, though it could be the media know this and are just speculating. I am not sure, I don't know anyone involved there to try and get info from.}

"Aston Villa is a great club with a big history playing in the best league in the world, so let's see what will happen. " From Belhanda himself when asked if he was moving to Aston Villa FC.
