Chelsea now look at Benteke, Can Villa really have any hope of keeping him?

Believable3 Unbelievable11

Benteke will know Chelsea have Lukaku who Mourinho has said will be playing in Chelsea colours next season - why would they require Benteke!

Agree10 Disagree2

While they will have Lukaku there are doubts about Torres's future and Ba has not really brought forward his Newcastle form. Although I never started this post I can see that Chelsea possibly would be interested

Agree5 Disagree5

Lukaku & Benteke play the same way - having 2 of the same types of players is madness. Torres will be a Chelsea player next season!

Agree5 Disagree2

He hopes

Agree3 Disagree2

Madness?

Lukaku snaps his leg during the first minute of the season and is out for 9 months; having an ideal like for like replacement seems sensible to me (and visa versa)

Villa - Fulham @ VP. No Gabby and we lacked pace and a threat breaking on the wings. A similar player would have fitted into the team and enabled us to play the same way.

Villa - Chelsea @ VP. Once Benteke was sent off the game changed because we had no outlet of his ilk (pace, power and ability). We pushed Gabby through the middle and the whole dimension of the team changed. Yes we only had 10 men but we were on top and if we had been able to sacrifice another position (CM/LB) and bring on a like for like striker we would have won that game in my opinion.

While I am an advocate of Plan's B and C, I see more sense in having more players that fit Plan A.

Not so mad after all.

I am excited about the prospect of belhanda joining from montpellier I've just been reading it on my iPad. There president saying villa are the only English team to have made an offer. If we sign him and a few more quality players I can see top 10 battle for us next year

Utv

Believable13 Unbelievable5

He's class 7m is what we've believed to have offered

Agree2 Disagree6

He's valued at £10m plus so it'll take more than £7m plus I can't imagine no other clubs have made offers for him

Agree2 Disagree3

Sounds like £12m is the price required. A chance that it could be a little lower but with all the competition for his signature 7m is far too low an estimate in my book. If Villa did land him though I would be delighted.

Just Cresswell, Murphy, Belhanda and centre half possibly another centre forward too and we will be in great shape. provided we keep Benteke

Agree5 Disagree0

The problem is have you seen the other teams who have bid. Ac, Inter, At Madrid and Galatasary. Can Lambert really convince him to come?
What a signing if he can!

Agree7 Disagree0

Montepellier have stated he can leave for 12-14m euro's roughly around 9m-11m

Agree4 Disagree0

We could chuck I N'zogbia as part of a player plus cash deal

Agree4 Disagree1

He was in the French tots last season and clubs where going to bid 25m+ for him, the only reason he stayed is cause they won the league and got a champions league place. If we get him I honestly think it is another benteke deal where he will be absoulty class UTV!

Spurs fan here. Saw that you have been interested in Belhanda on numerous websites so I thought I would visit the page. And I totally agree with this. I know you struggled this season but i've noticed when you play at your best you can beat anyone and could challenge top 10 next season but consistency will be key which you lacked this season. However, I believe there is real quality in Aston Villa and you have a fantastic manager. You're team is also very young with the likes of Benteke being aged 22 I believe. I think u need to strengthen in places such as attacking and Belhanda would bring creativity and he has a good shot on him too! And I also believe you need to strengthen your defence. Centre backs should definitely be key this summer for you. You probably are linked with many and I don't know who they are but I think you should try and get steven caulker on loan. I'm not just saying this as it would benefit my beloved spurs but he is a young, fast solid defender who has great aerial ability.
I think if you make these signings along with other players for depth or maybe even to start for you I think you could do well next season and shock people

Agree4 Disagree0

Hope he does come and maybe he will he has said he wants to play prem football we are only club from prem to bid and he wants a club with big history check again. And if he doesn't come o well move on gtta realise the good fact about this move we are willing to spend 11m on 1 player can only be good and a sign randy is getting the cheque book out again. maybe al hamidi can have a chat with him plus tonev looks quality not sure bout popov

Montpellier president Louis Nicollin has claimed that Aston Villa are one of five clubs to have made a bid for Younes Belhanda. The other clubs reported to have lodged an offer are AC Milan, Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, Galatasaray.
(errm, who would I join? A relagation fight or champions league football? )

Believable9 Unbelievable5

Its spelt relegation mate

Agree11 Disagree2

I think Belhanda would be a real coup for us and a statement of intent from Lambert to the likes of Benteke.

However, in a straight fight it would appear that all the other clubs interested have more to offer.

I really believe we will be nowhere near relegation come the end of the season

Agree6 Disagree1

How ever you spell it we know the meaning, and with out Benteke and Wiemann that's your direction

Agree3 Disagree6

We'll see mr keyboard warrior

Agree6 Disagree3

Its spelt weimann lol and he isn't all that important and could easily be replaced. I do like him but he's a bit of a headless chicken and also arrogant

Agree5 Disagree2

Sounds like a Norwich fan. lol

Worry about your own top scorer trying to engineer a move to a bigger club. its Hearts of Melbourne isn't it ahahah small club

Agree6 Disagree0

The season is over, and still fans from other clubs come to our rumours page.

We know what you are; We know what you; Obsessed with Villa that's what you are

Agree5 Disagree0

RVW is the top striker and without benteke or wienann I can't see where villa will get goals

Agree1 Disagree3

You're right there. As with them we'd only have 9 players on the pitch, oh hang on a second no, we'd have two other strikers playing in their position. And unlike that small club on the A14 somewhere east of here, I can't remember their name, villa are actually a big club with obvious potential meaning we can lure top players here! If you still don't agree that we are twice the club you ever will be look at our last 10 sales and look at your last 10 sales!

Agree2 Disagree0

Gabby, Drennan, Bent, Burke
If Villa sell off anyone - we always have a backup plan. You don't sell someone & then just pocket the cash & buy no replacement if its your star player.

The Montpellier chairman has declared that four clubs have made concrete bids for Younes Belhanda. Those clubs are AC Milan, Inter Milan, Galatasaray, and Aston Villa.

Belhanda is a 23 year old Morocan attacking midfielder and would be a fantastic signing, however it would be very difficult to sign him as we don't offer championsleague football however he said he would preferably play in either England or Germany, and play for a historic club, maybe there is a chance

Believable5 Unbelievable3

5 clubs have enquired bout him but Villa are the only club to of made a formal offer as qouted by their club president yesterday

Villa are closing in on signing Belhanda in an attempt by Lambert to show the ambition of the club to the star players of Benteke & Weimann.

Aston Villa have bid a concrete offer of £13m for Younes Belhanda which was announced in a press conference last night as the Montpellier President Louis Nicollin announced the deal.
Belhanda is now set to travel to Birmingham to discuss personal terms of a move. {Ed002's Note - You are a little wide of the mark. There have been recent offers from five clubs although one has subsequently stepped away from the table. Belhanda will move this summer but he is not yet on his way to AV for any discussions.}

Popov & Tonev are expected to have medicals in a week's time & then wrap up deals to join the Villa on 1st July.

Believable6 Unbelievable4

Popov from west brom doubt it very much

Agree3 Disagree6

Hopefully with Popov, Tonev & Belhanda we'll be a great side next season! Hope we can get a new left back & centre back & I really think we'll be a top 10 side next season!

Agree6 Disagree1

Not that Popov mate haha, we want a good player, not some bloke from WESTBROM haha. the Popov from Kuban in Russia buddy.

Agree7 Disagree1

A few suggestions on twitter say that Tonev has arrived in the UK
