We will go in for a player called Lorenzo Melgerejo. He plays for Benfica, and is 22 years of age. He is an attacking fullback, who played as a winger earlier in his career. Would heavily suit Lambert' s style of wingbacks, and he is rapid.

Believable1 Unbelievable7

K first of all its melgarejo and benfica extended his contract in september till 2018 with a buy out clause of 30 million euro's.

im pretty sure lerner will not pay that for a 22 year old left back/ wing back even if it would significantly improve our club.

Agree4 Disagree3

Buy out clause means nothing, teams in Spain an portugal are obligated to put buy out clauses in every players contract, which is why they set the fee high, very rarely does a player ever go for his buy out clause fee

Agree8 Disagree3

Still not going to be cheap though is he?

Momo sissokko signing for the villa next week

Aston Villa are one of a handful of clubs pursuing 23-year-old Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko.

Labert tracking Luis pedro Cavanda a 23 yr old beligan right back who plays for Lazio

Lambert keen on making approaches for S. Sinclair, Lescot and Guidetti from Man city

Believable11 Unbelievable2

Can people stop saying about Sinclair on loan, a player cannot play for 3 BPL teams I 1 season, he played a game for Swansea and has played for man city so he is not allowed to play for another, sorry BPL rules {Ed003's Note - thank you.}

Agree7 Disagree8

If Sinclair can't play for another prem club this season then why are the media linking him with clubs in the jan transfer window? Is there a loop hole in this rule?
Like "restriction of trade", maybe?

Agree9 Disagree1

Apparently its 3 teams in a calendar year not a premier league season so as this is 2013 its okay to happen I don' t think thats true though

Agree7 Disagree0

Didn't shorey an begovic play for 3 clubs in the same season a couple seasons back? FIFA couldn't do anythin about that

Agree10 Disagree1

There is a way Sinclair can sign I was reading it on vital villa

I reckon the reports of 10m budget to be true, however if we sell players more money will be available. the likes of bent, ireland, dunne, warnock, given and hutton.
Warnock, thank god, has had interest from prem teams
Hutton can sign permanently for forest
bent to arsenal to replace chamakh
Ireland can go on a free, because he's rubbish!

All of these gone will eliminate a substancial amount of wages, meaning we could get more players or 4 or 5 higher waged players. the likes of lescott.

Players i would like to see:
Dawson (spurs) AVB doesn't favour him
Huddlestone
Matt Phillips, swap for Delfouneso

Believable6 Unbelievable7

If RL is really a proper owner and doesnt want us to go down he will put a bit more money in than 10mil

Agree6 Disagree3

Lambert has rubbished that he needs to sell players & issues that Bent is not for sale.
Lerner will pay money for a player if its worth paying for them.

Agree5 Disagree1

Delfouneso is doing class at Blackpool. Will be good next year {Ed003's Note - far from class,but the link with Matty has some truth to it}

Agree4 Disagree5

Fonz is doing OK/GOOD.
Class? No, he's like Albrighton & Gabby, never lived up to their expectations.

Agree4 Disagree2

5 Goals in 22 games is not what i call a great record also considering this is the Championship and not the Premier League

Agree2 Disagree1

Take a look at his assists people he has been playing lw a lot and a third of those 22 games were probably late sub appearances

Hoping for a CB, Full back, CM and a winger...My number 1 choice for CB would be Lescott but i don't think there's much chance of that happening. Douglas from FC Twente or Hangeland would do though. Danny Simpson at full back is a good option imo. Fee wouldn't be too high with his contract situation but we'd have to negotiate on his wage demands probably. Huddlestone on loan would add some experience/quality to our midfield. Sinclair on loan would add some much needed attacking threat from midfield although i'm not sure whether the premier league regulations would allow him to play for us this season. If not, depending on funds we should go for Aubameyang. We'd probably have to shift Ireland, Warnock and Hutton to balance the wages.

Believable8 Unbelievable0

Sinclair can't go on loan because he has already played for 2 clubs so far this season

Agree2 Disagree2

Since when has huddlestone been quality??

Agree3 Disagree13

Huddlestone would add some much needed presence to our midfield. His range of passing is on a different level to what we currently have. He's got the ability to set off our attacking players such as Gabby, Weimann and Benteke. If we can get the ball quickly and accurately to these players and tighten up in defence we should be fine this season.

Agree8 Disagree1

I'm sure the rule is "a player can't play for MORE than 3 clubs in a season". Anyone know for certain?

Agree7 Disagree0

"Players may be registered with a maximum of three clubs during one season. During this period, the player is only eligible to play official matches for two clubs." Therefore, Sinclair having already played for Swansea and City this season in the league cannot play for us unfortunately.

Aston Villa are looking to sign boyhood fan Joleon Lescott from Manchester City he will have to take a cut in wages but Randy Lerner has said he will back Lambert in the transfer market.

Believable3 Unbelievable18

Agree19 Disagree3

So to get a top 6 finish we signing a bloke thats never hit double figures in a season in a team thats never finished higher than 15th??

Agree12 Disagree1

Class player for a class team :D

Agree0 Disagree6

Ebanks Blake for villa?? Lmfao!

Jesus Christ, I have heard some rubbish on this site but this distinguishes itself as being the most ridiculous

rumour has it were going in for palacios, Lambert feels were short in the wider areas as the like of n'zogbia and albrighton need competition. it is said that Aubameyang although he wants to join Villa they wont be able to match the valuation unless they are able to move a few players on Bent if valuation met (reading qpr and west ham rumoured ) ireland could be set to be heading for the exit after his recent lacklusture performances. dunne is considering the offer from redbulls only thing stalling it is dunne feels he owes villa for missing half the season and the fact the clubs transfers are overseen by houllier lescott possibly coming in on load with option to buy but face competition from everton

Believable3 Unbelievable2

These are the players I want and that are possible to get here at villa:
Lescott 6-8mill
Huddlestone(loan) then buy at end of season
Whittingham I think he's a great player he's about 2-4million
And finally augbemeyang or hooper. Hooper seems the more realistic option but let's see what happens!

Agree4 Disagree3

"And the fact transfers are overseen by houllier" ??? What are you talking about!?!? Lol

Agree8 Disagree2

NY Red Bulls have there transfer dealings looked after by none other than Gerard Houiller.

Given the tense time that Dunne and he had during the tenure at Villa, it is not all that plausible that Houiller would want Dunne in NY. he did freeze him out after all, but Dunne was carrying on like an person along with James Collins

Aston Villa are said to be looking at talented Hull centre back James Chester, but Steve Bruce is insisting he is not for sale and had proposed a new contract to him

Believable7 Unbelievable2

I say go after him and offer a player in exchange like Burke or carruthers on loan and 3 mill
