With Guzan on a short term loan at Hull , Marshall will deputise for the time being. Given may join on a season long loan in the Summer but not in January.

Firstly Richard Dunne is not leaving the club in January or in the Summer, his heroics on Sunday against Chelsea have drawn great praise from McAllister. Curtis Davies looks like hes on his way out. Carlos Cuellar is also heading out Spain being the likely destenation. Joleon Lescott may also join in a 6M deal.

In Midfield not much will happen though Niko Kranjcar will join as he is out of favour at Spurs. If Ashley Young decides to leave (15-20M) , the likely replacement is Charles N'Zogbia (11M).

Lastly the ongoing situation up front: (Carew , Delfouneso , Heskey and Agbonlahor have only scored 4 between them this season) Carew will be shipped out , probably to the Baggies. In response Robbie Keane will join as part of a combined fee (Kranjcar) of 12M.

Leaving the club will be Davies (5M) , Cuellar (4M) , Sidwell (2.5M) , Salifou (Release) , Ireland (6.5M) and Carew (4.5M) .

This Leaves Us With An Outline Squad Of:

With Guzan leaving on a short term loan we could push Parish up the ranks or Marshall into covering for Friedel. Friedel will stay. McGregor may make the switch to Villa Park in the Summer but not in January, Given is another possibility. This area is not a pressing concern for Houllier as we are pretty strong.

Firstly Richard Dunne is not leaving the club in January or in the Summer, his heroics on Sunday against Chelsea have drawn great praise from McAllister (if you don't believe me look for yourself on Villa website). As well all know Curtis Davies will be on his bike, he is in search for a new PL club, Blackburn will be the destination as he will be used as the make weight for Chris Samba to join us for aroung 6 million. I don't see any LB joining the squad unless we make a loan move for either Bridge or Lescott. Thats the Defence Sorted.

In Midfield no more than a couple of changes will be made, Reo-Coker will be involved more and players are coming back from injury that have done well for us in the past. For thsi reason i see one of Sissoko or Makoun to join, Houllier has worked with both these players before, i think he will favour Sissoko due to his Premier League experience. Wide areas are more or less covered, Kranjcar will not be joining, he will stick at Spurs for the time being. Bentley will not be signed either. Sessegnon is a potential signing, Houllier will probably go for French players as that is his area of expertise so Sessegnon may join to allow Young to have more freedom in the middle of the pitch.

Lastly we have the situation up top, Carew, Deflounesou, Heskey and Agbonlahor have only scored 4 between them this season - a shameful tally considering the fact it is January. Carew will be shipped out, probably to the Baggies. In response we will sign one of Adebayor, Bendtner or Santa Cruz. Adebayor or Santa would be loan moves i would think with a permanent switch to be more likely at the end of the season. Cummings is likely to join on loan also with a view to a $2.3 million switch in summer if things go well.

Leaving the club as previously mentioned will be Davies and Carew. Expect them to feth arounf 7 or 8 million. Lowry will go out on loan for first team experience. Beye will leave the club for a small fee and Sidwell will leave the club, probably to West Ham but he seems to be stalling.
