Yeahhh to be honest i know Adebayor is a controversial one and massively splits opinions but if he came villa for the right price and wasn't on ridiculous money I wouldn't be too upset. Big step up from Gabby and Weiman anyway.

Problem is he will want ridiculous money. I remember reading a while back when he went to Spurs that he wouldn't go unless he was on the same money as he was at City as he wasn't prepared to give up the extra money as he uses a lot to do charity work. In order to force the transfer through City were paying a large portion of his wages even though he was a Spurs player. So I can't see him taking any sort of pay cut whatsoever. He will probably end up in China, Russia or the MLS just to keep his massive wages rather than play regular football in the Premier League.

I'd love Hernandez to play alongside Benteke and to get Townsend.
With this 3 played with Sinclair as well, I think it would be almost impossible to not score goals
Add Kyle Walker, a decent leftback and a good passing central midfield player and we'd be flying.
Oh, and Begovic as well. I'm glad Sherwood seems to have made a goalkeeper a priority

The players villa are linked with looks very bright for the future, as I don't know about anyone else but transfer windows for Aston villa is about waiting to see if it's the French or English div 2 that we are getting are new players from.its making the whole thing exciting to see who we will purchase.richards is a great start,if we can get begovic, Townsend,Carroll etc then I don't see why we should all be waiting for a relegation battle,mid table finish is better than worrying about the drop

Could we get Hernandez? I know he said he just wants a chance to play and prove his worth but isn't Madrid to villa abit much? Don't get me wrong I'd love nothing more than to see him in a Villa shirt

He's not at Madrid anymore. He's back at Man U
He was only on loan at Madrid
It's an interesting point though, when we talk about transfers. We all think it's a case of paying the transfer fee and agreeing the wages
I have family in Madrid and you'd need a shoe horn to get me out of the place if I was a player there, regardless of what you paid me
Unfortunately for us, Birmingham doesn't have the same draw
I think it's a real problem for us.

No to Adebayor. Not worthwhile now. Plus, I'm not overly keen on signing African players unless they are truly world-class given that they disappear every two years for anything up to 2 months.

At the end of the day, we need a classy striker. Two if Benny leaves. What happened to the Charlie Austin shout? Adeybeyor or Hernandez running alongside Benny, would be the way to go. Can't just keep looking at Benny as the main provided off goals. I think he'll stay another year, so let's make it count!
