I know I am not the brightest but naively the penny has just dropped. Imagine you are a highly successful businessman, you have a proven track record of turning round average businesses, you acquire a risky situation where the majority of fans don't want change, at this early stage you bring in a new unproven man just imagine he fails.
You are then under the microscope and associated with failure. Or do you give the incumbent enough rope and say you gave the situation s fair chance. Based on this at this stage I don't think Henry was ever an option. The owners have shown that can listen and give the manager a chance. If as I well think this will be temporary the owners have shown shrewd business acumen. As Del Boy once said "you know it makes sense"

Brilliant, considering the life span of most managers is relatively short that is a great way of making the inevitable look like it was part of the game plan going on in your head.

You didn't want Bruce but the owners chose him, live with it mate and don't let the decision eat you away, you probably just feel a bit foolish amongst your friends at the moment because you told them all that no doubt Bruce would be gone, It's only short term embarrassment and time will heal that. :-) UTV.

I have forgotten about the issue and moved on just as I would of done if Henry got the Job, It's you boys who keep bringing it back up.
Also the fact that we kept a very good manager is everything to celebrate and maybe next May you just might appreciate it yourselves.

Also Vila4eva I didn't state that the owners picked him, I stated they chose him. To my understanding they had a choice between Bruce and Henry and they chose Bruce, it matters not the reason why they made that decision the point is that they chose Bruce which makes my statement correct.

Mate, I'm not stating that Bruce plays the style of football that i like to watch but if it can get us back in the premiere then I can live with it for the time being. I just think that at this particular point in time that Bruce was our best option given what was on the table, several games down the line if things are not going well he could be replaced but that would of stood true if Henry got the job. This type of thing happens at every club it's how football is these days. You can be certain of many changes at the club in the coming season and Bruce may well be one of them but I honestly believe he is our best chance of going up at this point.

I don't understand the logic that Bruce is our best chance of returning to the premier. We didn't do it last time and are considerably weaker this time. We have lost a third of the team with what could be argued a better third. Your optimism doesn't add up to me.

the same one that Bruce has got now! and the one you admit yourself is far weaker than last seasons.
So what logic would there of been in Henry coming in with just a week or so to go, costing money for his own contract, money for Bruce to be paid off when we are already fighting FFP, plus the added upheaval of all the manager and staff changes, and Henry left facing a season with having no cash to buy his own choice of players and very little knowledge of the players that he has got at his disposal?

If Henry was coming in with no hinderance from FFP and a substancial war chest of cash it would be an whole new ball game, unfortunately that wasn't going to be the case so like I said at this point in time in my opinion Bruce seemed to be our best option.

Get your head out of bruces bck side. we needed a change but we stuck with for now if your happy watching hoof ball then that's your fault others want to see attacking football with a plan b N c an youth coming threw the owners will see what most of us villa fans see every sat, Tuesday, an mark my words I hope he doesn't get sack when we go on a bad run ; if it had been some 1 else with a better cv he would be gone . I'm behind villa 100 percent I just want to see good football not stoneage football, no1 plays football like we do its not good at all, Henry should of got the job in my view but it's done now an i'm fine with it, chairmen should make him play attractive footy.

Seems like 67% of the fans are happy with Bruce for the time being along with the all important new owners so your opinion was minority. By the way whilst I had my head up Bruce's arse I spotted youself, you piece of shit! Lol.
